Isaac Redman
My uncle (a lifelong Browns season ticket holder who is slowly converting to the good guys) took his daughter, who's 10 and loves the Steelers, to training camp yesterday. I asked him if they got any autographs. Here's a snippet of what he said:
"...got 5 autographs. No big name players... they all get back to the dorm/locker room by golf cart to avoid the crowds. But she was happy about with what she got. The coolest of all the players was an RB named Isaac Redman. The guy must have spent an hour signing, he wouldn't turn anyone down, anyone who asked for a pic, he obliged, he even held a baby for a photo opp."
So there you have it. Not only is Redman impressing on the field, but he sounds like a high-character guy off the field, as well. I am really rooting for this guy to be a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Looks like he's getting more looks in practice as well
It looks like Redman may be getting a harder look than we even anticipated. According to this, he got all 7 carries in the goal line drills today and scored 5 times. Including some carries with the first offense against the first defense. He may turn into our version LeRon McLain this year. :)

He was probably the Man after that practice
After all those goal-line scores and then the hour long photo opt, he probably felt like a mini celeb. In my experience the best player to get autographs from are the younger guys, no need to fight houndreds of people for the vets who might come over and sign. On a related not, Keenan Lewis and Mike Wallace are really cool. They were BSing about their college days while signing my football
Hey if I was a free-agent rookie I’d sign anything handed to me. Never know if that chance will ever come again to meet people like that, make the most of it kid.
+1
When he’s a 3-time pro-bowl RB and does this, then I’ll actually be impressed.
Willie Colon doesn’t get flagged because he has long arms; he gets flagged because he sucks. - cliff harris is still a punk!
I think he is on cloud 9
Undrafted out of D. II Bowie St. (when I first read about him I thought Boise St. and I was confused because I was Boise is D. I but then I Figured it out) might have a shot of making the team and contributing right away I would sign anything handed my way babies, boobs, beer bottles, you name it I would propably sign it.
Probably so....
But of what we’ve seen and heard so far, he deserves it. Good for him.

I've been reading Jim Wexell's tweets
He was very impressed with Redman, and seemed to think he was a near lock for a roster spot. He also said that Summers’ only chance now is to beat out Davis by showing more on special teams. Click here if you want to read them for yourself.

he also says
Anyone up for a bet on whether Carey Davis makes the team? I say he’s a lock.

At this point, I think it's between Frank and Carey....
…and if Frank is close to Carey on special teams, I think Frank can win out.
The purpose of your offense is to score touchdowns. And if Frank the Tank continues to throw the blocks that spring Mr. Redzone into the Promised Land, I think Tomlin will swallow hard and let Carey Davis go.
Remember, folks, Tomlin’s greatest turnaround may have been with the special teams, and Carey is a stalwart on the ST’s. Tomlin loves the guy. Not because he plays favorites, but because Carey played a big role in the team’s improvement. Davis was responsible for a lot of highlights you DIDN’T see: those crippling long runbacks on kicks and punts by the opposition. And Tomlin is loath to let someone like that go without replacing him with someone of equal or greater value on ST’s.
And on all these “Final 53” posts, consider that special teams play will be a determining factor in several of the final five.
Here is a bleacher report
article on “Ismack the Redzone”
Some respect to: Dwight White, who wore 78, was an original member of the Steel Curtain, and the first Steeler to score points in a Super Bowl. He scored 2 as a safety, when he sacked Fran Tarkenton of the Vikings in Super Bowl IV. White was in the hospital with pneumonia for most of the week prior to that game, lost 20 lbs, and was not expected to play. He died in 2008.

Good stuff
That autograph could turn into something someday… you never know.
My sister got her shoe signed by Darko Milicic…. he was supposed to be basketballs next jesus. Didnt quite pan out.
Heres to hoping Redman’s sig means a little more than Darko’s in the future.
Still can't fathom...
How Darko went ahead of Carmelo. Imagine the Pistons with a true scorer who plays inside and out? On top of what they had all those years too. Dumars!?
