That's my overwhelming reaction to this new information about emails and IMs by McNulty. If you haven't heard the news yet, here's a link:

There is reference to these emails in the latest six-pack via funhouse. All I can say is: I hope Cornwell is not kidding about this. He's paraphrasing the messages, not exactly the same thing as releasing authentic copies. But if these are accurate quotations, and if they really came from McNulty, then I am no longer worried that Ben might have done what she accuses him of. I'm not saying that these messages make it impossible that Ben could have done it, I suppose it's still possible, I'm just saying that in my mind it is so unlikely that I don't feel any more concern over it. To me, it's now a non-issue (I wish it were the case for Ben, too, but this is probably too much to hope for, the lawsuit is still going, and even afterwards he'll probably still have a lot of repercussions to deal with).
Some of you BTSC regulars weren't worried, you were convinced all along that Ben didn't do it. I wish I could say I had been one of you all along, but that would've been a lie. I was worried as hell about this. Not that I was convinced Ben did it, I just had no real idea. But now, for the first time, the evidence seems to clearly favor Ben. Can you gimme hallelujah?
