A Open Letter To Ben Roethlisberger

       Dear Ben,

I would like to apologize for the media and some rabid idiots who have obviously never heard the phrase innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately in this day and age, some people take great joy out of the hardships of others.

I will tell you that my first reaction when I heard the new about your law suit was this is total CRAP!  I find it impossible that you could have attacked anyone. While I know that you have to deal with people all over the world who feel they know you and as such make dramatic and sweeping statements about you and what your life is like, I am not doing that. I have several friends who grew up in Findley Ohio and as such I have always found the people there to be of the highest quality. In addition the stories about you and your family over the past years have shown you to be of strong moral fiber and character.

I can not claim to understand what your life is like, dealing with the constant invasions of your privacy and I guess that I am apologizing for that also. Regardless of your job, you should be able to live at least part of it out of the public eye, with some idiot who claims to be a journalist twittering about the fact that you just went to the can.

Please know that there are people out there who support you and admire they way that you are handling these allegations, and the fact that you are doing your best to concentrate on the job at hand.

Try not to let them get you down, the truth will win out, it always does.

I'd borrow one

The inconsinstentcy of these two statements slays me

“While I know that you have to deal with people all over the world who feel they know you and as such make dramatic and sweeping statements about you and what your life is like,”

’I find it impossible that you could have attacked anyone."

Fanposts recently

Are becoming absolutely and utterly pointless. Why the heck are people still posting about this story? There have already been a million posts dedicated to it and a front page story. This opinion should have been posted there. That way people do not have to wade through all these worthless ones to get to the one’s that actually have insightful/original topics.

Who is

The Oriole’s hurler in your avatar?

And about these types of posts, I find them not unlike a car wreck, I don’t want to look, but I feel compelled to. And yes, most of them are pointless. The only thing people can do is speculate. No one knows enough about this case to make any kind of judgement, it’s all guess work at this point.

Brad Bergesen

He is a rookie stud, who, unfortunately, just went on the DL.

Anyway, my gripe with fanposts is that people just throw them up about stuff we already know. I feel like they should enlighten us on new information or your deep well thought out opinion that has not been stated before.

I'm on board with your thoughts as to the fan posts.

Growing up (in the ’70’s-80’s) I was a Pirates fan of course and my brother (just one year older) was an Orioles fan. I remember those teams had some terrific pitching staffs with Palmer, McGregor and Stone. I don’t remember all the regulars but I liked Ken Singleton a lot back then. That ’79 series was a gem.

79 was well before my birth

My father started taking me to games when I was a tiny kid. I was a huge fan of Cal Ripken (duh!), Brady Anderson, Mussina (until he went pinstripes), Alomar, etc etc.

I never really appreciated good pitching until I matured and began to appreciate the power of good defense (probably influenced by my love for the Steelers).

this lady scares me and is probably on the Historic Preservation Board in Tulsa although she’s never been there. It is also quite possible that she wrote the original Blue Christmas song.

I don’t think “steal woman” is quite the name you are looking for.
