Fringe Players

was wondering what the chances are of people like Bruce Davis, Tony Hills and Sonny Harris making the team are?  Bruce Davis sucks at special teams but he is a very good pass rusher who has played well.  Hills has looked pretty good actually really good so far.  Sonny Harris may get put on the Practice Squad I bet.  I have no faith whatsoever in Rashard Mendenhall.  He looks like a complete bust.  With our OL in total dissaray and the RB's after Fast Willie looking marginal at best then it looks as if Big Ben must carry the offense alone.  Any thoughts??? I hope I am wrong.

Yea, goodness Mendy is a bust...

Averaging over 5 YPC in a game just isn’t going to cut it, so we need to cut him! While we’re at it, let’s sue him to get the bonus money paid back because he doesn’t take it to the house on every carry.

Mendy...

I read somewhere that the RB coach said that Mendy did almost everything right in the Arizona game, he made the right cuts and got more than he should have given the blocking. Also Like Blackadar says he averaged around 5 yards a rush against the Redskins. I wouldn’t lable him as a bust yet. You don’t sit for a year and then just automatically start bursting through holes every play. It takes timing and confidence, he’ll get it during the season and will hopefully be a pleasant surprise to most of us. Making the right cuts and hitting the holes is the important part, yes he could have excelerated a little sooner on his two 7-9yd runs and maybe broke them for more, but you could tell he was worried about ball control and not fumbling as he came through the hole instead of turning on the speed, which allowed him to be dragged down by a diving LB. Maybe he never gets the confidence to turn on the jets….last time he did that R. Lewis broke him. But maybe he will. If he does he’ll be fine.
