Big-Brother Syndrom In Full Force Down In Baltimore
To get our Monday started, a little humor compliments of Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs.
(Hat tip: 96.1 Kiss FM Morning Freak Show)
Shouldn't the Ravens be focused on finding a wide receiver or two that will stay out of retirement?
Love it! Go Steelers!

How the hell were you able to photoshop that so well?
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Is that sarcasm?
Because to me it doesn’t look that great. I did it in five minutes, simply cut letters from the other words and pasted.

I was being for real. I had to look at that picture again when I saw it and realize it said that.

Thanks.
And sorry, I didn’t expect a compliment on this from a Ravens fan.

I’ve been looking it over and still can’t find the cut and paste. Would love to send this to my buddy who loves the Ravens….

Definitely not as good a photoshop as above…but the content is quality.
Willie Colon doesn’t get flagged because he has long arms; he gets flagged because he sucks. - cliff harris is still a punk!
Oh man
Football around Pittsburgh must be slow since no one here was able to get camp credentials to cover the Steelers. Just gotta go by what you read rather than what you experience at camp.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
And by slow you must mean that we already have a superbowl winning roster in place?
Willie Colon doesn’t get flagged because he has long arms; he gets flagged because he sucks. - cliff harris is still a punk!
No
I mean that you guys have very little things to talk about. Terrell Suggs is the topic of conversation today when over at our blog, we will be reporting the AM and PM practices.
That is what I meant, bud.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
And its accurate, unbias opinions of how your camp is going
…oh wait
by John Stephens on Aug 3, 2009 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions
I actually had alot to say from Friday’s practice about what we did poorly that day. At least we are reporting what we actually see and experience rather than what we are reading from our accurate, unbiased local writers like you guys are doing.
I hear Ben looks good. I hear Woodley is huge. It is reported by _______ that Harrison is scared of flying.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
I'd rathere hear
Unbias opinions from a reporter than the bias writings Bruce puts up on your page. Bruce, although a well-versed and seemingly good guy, tends to ONLY talk about the Ravens in a positive light. Even when Mason went out he pretended like your WR core was top notch. Come on, the shit has to smell at least a little bit.
Blitz has prior engagements so he has not made it to camp. Oh well, I will get by with what sports writers report.
by John Stephens on Aug 3, 2009 2:01 PM EDT up reply actions
We never said anywhere close that our WR corp would be top notch. We actually got to the point where we were so tired of bitching and moaning about the whole thing, that we came to reality that we are going to have to stick with the guys we have. So we are going to support who ever is in the lineup and report what they did well.
And why not talk in a positive light? Are we really supposed to talk in a negative tone? Would you want Blitz or Milkshake reporting more things you guys did wrong then right? Didn’t think so.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
I would look it up and prove you wrong
but there were like 10 posts with over 500 comments on his retirement and where to go from there. I distinctly remember reading it and thinking how ridiculous it was that Bruce was making the argument that you were fine. It was not saying he supported them, he was saying that you lost nothing with Mason’s retirement and that you had an above average group.
Yes, I want Blitz and DYMS to give me accurate reports. I do not want stories read through black and gold sunglasses. Our offensive line is bad and I want to hear about what is going on with it. I do not want to hear that they are actually a top 10 O-line, when, clearly, they are not. And I never said report more wrong than right. I just want the wrong with the right, which Bruce fails to do.

Go to that most recent post, and show me where Bruce only focuses on the positives and not the negatives. Actually, you will not find anything along the lines of that. He reports what happened at training camp, not what he though of each individual position. So your point is void that Bruce only reports whats good.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Bruce sounds dreamy and heroic.

BREAKING NEWS
The allure of steelers boards holds more hold over Mr Malor than talking about the ravens with other fans at training camp. Can’t wait to hear more reports from this stellar investigative reporter! Maybe Suggs can get him a matching T-shirt since we are always on his mind!

hate us all you want, but get used to getting swept
note to those who pay attention…Tomlin has not lost a divisional game yet. hahaha
Wrong
You were swept in 2006 by the Ravens and split games with us in 2007. So no, we are not in anyway used to getting swept. You will not be able to beat us forever, so get used to the wildcard after we win the division!
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
2006 was not Tomlin. 2007 is the loss, its legitimacy is debatable, but the outcome is not.
Willie Colon doesn’t get flagged because he has long arms; he gets flagged because he sucks. - cliff harris is still a punk!
Just referring to the swept statement in general. Last year’s results are the same thing that happened in the years before. This league is not about living in the past and what any team did last year has nothing to do with the upcoming season.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Getting swept 3 times isn’t a common ravens/steelers element.
While I understand that delving into the ravens past inevitably leads to cleveland, and should therefore be avoided, most steelers fans do actually embrace our teams history while also managing to look forward to the future.
Willie Colon doesn’t get flagged because he has long arms; he gets flagged because he sucks. - cliff harris is still a punk!
Its pretty bold
to be claiming you are going to win the division with the defending SB champions in your division, all the while struggling to figure out if your old-ass-man #1 receiver is retired or not.
by John Stephens on Aug 3, 2009 10:58 AM EDT up reply actions
You see only what you are prepared to see.
You only win what you prepare to win. Pittsburgh another SB! Baltimore a regular seaon game.
Shouldn’t the Ravens be focused on finding a wide receiver or two that will stay out of retirement?
We have a solid WR group already with Mason returning. Our group got us to the AFCC game last year with a rookie QB, rookie head coach and 1st time Off. Coor with this team. Play those exact 3 games this year again, and I will take our group anytime.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
I would take ours
Because we won all 3, but hey I’m just crazy.

How are you feeling about losing Rex & Bart Scott (and didn’t you lose another safety as well) ?
Those losses will not hurt as much as everyone makes it out to be.
Actually, I do not think it will affect our play at all. Rex was a great coach, but I am still satisfied having the players we have now to help show new def. coor, Greg Mattison, the way we can play in any system.
As far as Bart Scott, his loss will nearly mean nothing. Like you guys are very excited to see Timmons step in for Foote, we are just as excited to see 2nd year LB, Tavares Gooden step in for Bart. He was our 3rd round pick 2 years ago from Miami, and you know how those players turn out. Gooden is the most athletic LB on our team, he has been clocked running a 4.39 forty at times and is very, very strong. His sideline to sideline speed is incredible from what I have seen so far in Training Camp. Also, Ray Lewis has already taken Gooden under his wing and is determined to show him how to become a great player in this league. He did for Bart and the rest of the great LB we have had in the past, he is going to do it for Gooden.
The safety you are referring to is Jim Leonhard, who is now on the Jets. Leonhard came to the Ravens last year after making the team through a try out. He was our back-up the whole year, until Dawan Landry went down. Landry is a physical freak. He is only going into his 4th year in the league and has incredible upside. His size for a SS is astonishing. He may be the biggest SS in the league. He has been our starter since 2006 and went down because of a freak neck injury. Having Landry back at 100% and Leonhard losing is actually addition by subtraction.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
there is no way pitt. wins the division with the same smoke and mirrors from last year. a rookie qb from a d-2 school took you to the wire in his first year. if ben’s no look chuck and ducks don’t land just right your done. you got a load of cheap calls. your o-line stinks. ben is going to get hurt this year behind that mess. maLor is correct about his Landry comments. Landry would have creamed your clueless receivers if he had stayed healthy. Ward had to tell Sweed where to be on every play last year. He is like Ward’s dumb little brother.
Yeah right, because Sweed played every single game, every single down and Santonio was just chilling on the sidelines drinking tea. Not to mention Sweed is seasoned veteran right and totally isn’t a rookie who’s learning how to play with the big boys. You’re so high on Landry and his physicality, well wait until you see Lawrence Timmons. Yeah our o-line stinks, tell us something we don’t know, but guess what, we did win the SB with a crappy o-line. And it was that same crappy o-line that got us through the season. It was the same o-line that played a hand in beating you all three times. So our o-line is worthy of a little respect, no matter how crappy they are. You seem all to confident, yet you fail to realize that your boy Joe the Crow will have to face our top notch defense. You can talk all the smack you want about our o-line or our “clueless receivers” but as I recall it was Troy P that sealed the deal in that AFCCG
This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.
Wow this is the most moronic thing I have seen from a Raven this offseason
Smoke and Mirrors? We beat the crap out of you in the AFCCG. You were lucky the score was that close. And do not start whining about injuries in your secondary or I might vomit, because everyone has injuries at the end of the year.
Your QB was just that, a rookie. Its MUCH easier to have a good 1st year than it is to have a good 2nd year (@ QB). Once DCs have a full year of tape on you and actually start to plan defensive sets to confuse you, things become a lot more difficult. You can bet your sweet ass every team you are going to play next year will be looking at the tapes of how LeBeau made Flacco look like Rex Grossman in your last game of the year.
Cheap calls? You beat the Titans on a cheap call you hypocrite. The ball did not get snapped a good 3 seconds after the play call clock was at 0. Get a fucking clue, refs are not biased. You are, and you think your team “always gets the worst refs and bad calls.”
Ben was behind that O-line last year and STILL WON THE SUPERBOWL. Now they just have a year’s worth more experience and rookies to push them to work harder in camp to keep their jobs.
This is probably the dumbest comment you made “Landry would have creamed your clueless receivers if he had stayed healthy.” First of all, clueless? Really? You are going to tell me 2 SB MVPs are clueless receivers? A veteran like Ward, who is considered one of the smartest receivers, is clueless? Holmes who scored 3 TDs against you in the 3 games against you? Or are you just saying clueless because a rookie WR with no playoff experience dropped a pass? Either way you’re sound like an idiot there. You pick. Secondly, Laron Landry, one player, is going to magically shut down all 3-4 receivers on the field? Ok, you keep believing that.
I could go on and on, why we will still be better than you next year, but I do not think much of it would break through your thick skull.

anybody can make predictions
The Steelers won the Super Bowl while having some pretty glaring weaknesses….it’s common thinking that some/most of these areas will be better in ‘09, hence the confidence for the upcoming season. The Ravens had some glaring weaknesses last season, too, but made the AFCCG nonetheless. New players, regulars coming back from injuries, easier schedules, confidence through experience for the younger players, etc….different circumstances come with new seasons. The Ravens and Steelers are both going to be there. Both are well-coached, aggressive, grind-it-out teams that are obviously going to be SB contenders. Trash talk means nothing. The only thing we know for sure is that, as is always the case, injuries will be a huge factor. I doubt we’ll see a season sweep for either team this year.

Has BA been taking Michael's pills?
Did you guys see this quote from Bruce Arians about Willie Colon:
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09215/988261-66.stm
“I think Willie Colon is as good a right tackle as there is in this league,” said offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.
As the late, great Rick James used to say, “Cocaine is a hell of a drug!”
Is it too late for Shanahan to come back?
Maybe cut-blocking will mask some of our, uh, glaring lack of talent.

On the back of the purple T-shirt Terrell Suggs wore under his practice jersey Thursday were these words: "You Bet Your Sweet Ass I Hate The Steelers.’’
