Greatest Steelers Teams Of The 90's
1) 1994...this team had it all. Ferocious defense, bruising running game, a healthy Woodson and veteran leadership. Damn O'Donnell. Damn Pupunu.
2) 1995...not quite as strong as 94 without Rod Woodson all year. A failed hail mary propels them to XXX against the Cowboy team of the 90s decade. After a jittery start it looked like the Steelers were going to Bam to victory. Double Damn O'Donnell! He cost Lloyd, Kirkland, Dawson, Lake and Greene rings and Rod a ring with the Steelers.
3) 1997...Kordell had come into his own. Bettis had become the Bus. The Steelers had Denver at Pittsburgh in the AFCCG. Denver intercepts Pittsburgh's trip to the Super Bowl and Elway gets his first.
4) 1992...a strong team led by rookie coach Bill Cowher. Had the chin picked Brister as his starting QB instead of O'Donnell the Steelers (with #1 seed) may have beaten the Bills instead of Neil looking lackluster (after 3 Brister W's to close the season) in a 24-7 home playoff loss to the 4 time SB losers.
5) 1993...just a couple bricks shy of a load. After winning on the last day of the season to sneak into the playoffs, Joe Montana foiled Cowhers plan on one for the thumb.
6) 1996...could probably rank this team above 93 except Tomczak was the QB. After pounding the Colts in the playoffs, NE whips the Steelers in a fog 28-3.

Good list 5020,
and I basically agree.
1)94’ No change of pace pack, just 2 power running backs bruising defenders and killing the clock with a blitzing D that would never stop. Dang it Neil!
2)95’ Where an early season ACL injury couldn’t stop Rod, but 2 O’Donnell picks did. Plus losing to Dallas made it extra tough.
3)97’ Was a fun season. I took the loss better than 94’ and 95’ thinking Kordell is young the Steelers will be better next year. Boy, I was wrong.
4)92’ Foster, from special teams joke to the Steelers have found their power running back. I wasn’t too hard on O’Donnell that year. I never liked Bubby. The fears of a new coach were gone.
5)96’ Bittersweet season the Bus’s 1st and Woodson’s last. I always like Tomczak as a person, teammate, and on the bench. I swear if no one was open he would just throw up a rainbow to see what would happen. Normally it was a pick.
6)93’ Foster got hurt and the Leroy Thompson experiment began. Cowher lost to his mentor and Montana.
7) Honorable mention the 90’ Steelers team. Not the one that took the field, but the one I played in Tecmo Super Bowl. They had an undefeated season and won the super bowl with Rick Strom at QB (Never liked Brister) and Warren Williams at RB. (Worley fumbled as much in the game as he did in real life.)
