Steeler Nation in Chicago(going to game?)

I will be in downtown Chicago for business next week and I plan on flying in Sunday early morning for the game.  Not sure if I am going in or not but I would appreciate some sound advice on local bars or Steeler tailgates at the game.

As for the game I am anxious to see how many Steeler fans are present.  I have had the luxury of seeing the Black and Gold play throughout the country and I always get amped up when I see the Nation in full force at visiting venues.  Especially when the home team claims to have "the best fans".  I was delightfully surprised by the huge crowds at games I've attended in Dallas, San Diego, Jacksonville, Arizona, Tampa, and Miami.  Chicago fans have been telling me how great they are but I think they have no idea how many of us there will be.

I will

be there. After a recent episode of Man vs Food I have Thursday and Friday’s lunch dates all set up. My tickets are nose bleed but I was able to score them for face value and it will be fun to visit a city I’ve never seen before. Urlacher and their other starting LB will be out, guess it will be interesting for both defenses. Let’s hope we win.

Alright, okay, I don't dance, no way I just take my Terrible Towel out and wave it around in the air!!!!

I'll be there

First time poster, but I’ve been reading here for months. Can’t wait to see the Steelers in person – it’s been four years since they were here.

The Steelers bars listed here and in the PG seem to be focused in the North Side / Wrigleyville area, which isn’t particularly close to Soldier Field. Tailgating is everywhere – in the main lots, the South Loop (lots of parking lots on South Wabash), South Indiana Street. Bears fans tend to be a friendly bunch, at least when it come to the Steelers. Packers is another story.
