The hit on Polamalu's knee was dirty. It was on purpose
I think that Titans Alge Crumpler landed on Polamalu's knee on purpose.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this.
He landed on his knee on purpose, he was aiming for his knee. He knew exactly what he was doing.
It was not an accident. It was on purpose.

I disagree
Crumpler is a fatass, there were alot of bodies crushed in there, jostling for the recovery. Troy was a fool for not just falling on it, but that’s the type of uber competitive play we love about him. He went for a big play, and paid for it. That’s what happens in the NFL, people get hurt. It’s not like Crumpler is the re-incarnation of Nasty Bill Romanowski.
Thank you drive through...

Did you check the slide show?
If not you should have.
Only 2 shots out of approx. 70 show with clarity Crumpler looking at Troy’s hyper extended leg and nearly locked knee. Crumpler appears to be supporting himself with one hand …
might be using it as a shock absorber but the other arm is drawn into a downward arc locked into a block configuration. Admittedly, the other 68 or so flicks present a typical series of fast moving play action with players appearing and disappearing rapidly.

I wish there was a Rec (-1) button. This is a dumb post with no validity, and little point. Were you trying to make a joke?

There's a flag button
with several options, but that doesn’t seem to apply here.
lightningrod is entitled to his opinion, but unless he presents some compelling evidence (I don’t know what that could be, except maybe Crumpler bragging about it) I’m entirely unconvinced.

a more digg-like rec system with +1 and -1 would be nice.

HEY NOW!!!
I live in Peru sucker I know what you are saying. Such comments are unwarranted.
The Crumpler didnt do anything illegal. He was diving for a damn loose ball as was troy Polamalu.

I tend to agree
it looked a lot to me like Crumpler was making a certain amout og effort to fall on his leg.
No doubt all the sycophants will feel obliged to denigrate my opinion, but I think the tubby shit DID it on purpose. Possibly in retaliation for Troy’s late hit on C. Johnson earlier.
Either way, the replay doesn’t look very “incidental” to me.
You all be sure and tell me how wrong and stupid my opinion is, tho!

Watch a new rule get made
I betcha we’ll see a rule now that says “if a blocked kick hits the ground and is near a ton of people just let it die if it was kicked on 4th down”
Actually I wouldnt have a problem with that one. Because if its 4th down, it doesnt matter who gets it it just ends up dead anyway. Its only live in case a defender can run it back.

The issue in my mind is why is your most valuable player in on the kick block team to begin with.
by dermonti09 on Sep 14, 2009 10:44 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Well, if the most important defensive lineman didn't block that kick....
…they would have lost in regulation time. But Aaron Smith did. And they won the game.
The big improvement on this team in the past two years is special teams, and that’s a key reason they won it all last year.
If we want to blame somebody for Troy’s injury, let’s start with Isaac Newton. ’Twas gravity that cause the misadventure.

When it first showed the replay in slow motion
it does seem that Crumpler looks at the leg of Troy, then drops his knee right on top of it. In slow motion! When you see it in fast motion I think it’s obvious that he didnt have enough time to process, “hey there is a hyper extended steeler leg, I’m going to knee drop it” But I agree, in slow motion he seems to look at his leg, and then drop his knee on it.
by Steelde#1 on Sep 16, 2009 8:34 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Yeah...
Also what happens to be right around troys leg? THE BALL
Even though the play ends either way with Pittsburgh getting it, perhaps he thought “shit if Polamalu picks this up who knows what he could do or run it back to” i’d better try and get the ball!
