Polamalu: Not just good news....GREAT news
Polamalu just told the Pittsburgh media – within the hour – that he will NOT need surgery, and will be back in three to six weeks. That all he needs for now is rest. He said that for an injury like his, this is the best possible outcome.
Smile. Take a deep breath. Exhale.
I’m convinced his off-season yoga training paid big dividends here, because his flexibility no doubt lessened the likelihood of a torn ligament.
Hopefully, they don't have to rush him back, because speed and quickness are the two top attributes that he brings to the table, and if Troy loses a step or loses that explosiveness, he's not Troy. We saw that a couple of years ago.
Yeah,, I know: it’s the best news any of us have had all day.

Finally breathing
I think we will see him after the bye, all things said. Hopefully we can be at worst 6-2 by then

The absence of awful news doesn’t make it great. :)
Great news would have been “Whoops, we totally screwed that up, Troy is playing this weekend!”

Who posted the video of trainers stretching Polamalu’s knee before a practice/ preseason game?
That was the only thing I could think of when I saw the replay of the injury. Even bendy knees don’t bend like that.

Poor MaLoR
still can’t accept his own football orientation. Spewing Steelerphobia because he’s a self-hating Pittsburgh-seckshual. It’s OK to love the Steel, man.
Go ahead: everybody’s doing it nowadays.
Just embrace your inner Steely McBeam, MaLoR.

no, i actually hope he stays out all 6 and spends time either rehabbing or working out ot ensure he’s in great shape.
honestly….we dont need him for the next 6 games. they’re all pretty easy
even if they’re a challenge an elite team should manage fine even without one superelite player. thats my philosophy.
i think we’ll be fine. the only team im concerned about in the next 6 weeks is the chargers…..and thats entirely dependent on how good their defense is.
Patience is a virtue
The best thing the Steelers can do is take their time with Polamalu. If it’s a 4-6 week injury, take the 6 weeks, add the bye week, and have him back 100% for the final 9 games. I just think back to how he tried to play through the shoulder injury in 2007, and he was not the same player. Any chance of repeating requires him to be at full strength.
yup, agreed
no rush.

luckily
we don’t have that insane schedule like we did last year, i think we shall be okay as long as we get him back for good for the remainder of the season and postseason, at least after the bye.

This says the Steelers are 5-2 when Troy is out and Carter starts
