Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) - Week 3 Open Thread (1st Half)

Huge early season AFC North game between the Steelers and Bengals. Here's hoping the defense can force a few turnovers and get after Carson Palmer and that the offense can put it all together and put some more points on the board than they have in the first few weeks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Big Ben also takes a perfect record in the state of Ohio as a starting quarterback in the NFL. Now doesn't sound like the time to have that streak broken.

Go Steelers!

but the titans are down a TD to the Jets, and just punted…

titans arent that good

Kerry Collins is mediocre. They could be 1-5 or even 0-6 to start looking at their schedule.

Heck make that 76-0 and a solid 10 Lombardi’s while Baltimore runs to the NFC to try to get away from thrice yearly beat downs only to meet us in the Super Bowl and lose anyway.

This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

i would've said it was gutsy

it was. fail or succeed, no doubting the guts there. but we didn’t need it, and instead we give up a scoring opportunity

by syrsteelerfan on Sep 27, 2009 5:34 PM EDT up reply actions

interesting

IMHO should have gone for it on the first drive. Last drive of the half, not even within field goal range, I would have said punt.

In Chicago

It was a question of not getting the job done in the second half. The Bears deserved to take that one from us.

red zone woes are hurting us

We dominated the whole first half, and we’re only up by 2 scores.

I really like what I’m seeing out of the offense, so i’m trying the quiet the part of me that is screaming that this feels just like the Chicago game.

by syrsteelerfan on Sep 27, 2009 5:37 PM EDT reply actions

all depends on the second half

In the Chicago game, Ben stopped clicking after he was hurried/sacked on this one play. Weather and Skippy were also a factor.
