TOO SOFT AND NO HEART!
No you wont find effort to wax eloquent speech or play by play break down here. Or be some optimist about all of the good things done in the game yesterday! Are you kidding? I am shocked at the lack of aggressive urgency. The performance of our team is in a critical state. The "they'll be alright" was for last week - No more - will they?
The offense - no matter how good they look going down the field cant punch in the touchdowns.
No - huddle - not seen - why? Coaching - even though Ben loves it.
Willie breaks off a couple of runs to the outside and we go right back to the inside - Dear God please! Do it until they stop it Arians you - moron.
Bruce Arians - no comment - this man is an idiot. Its a crying shame Shanahan didnt want the job - could you imagine him running the talent we got - minus Sweed.
Why are we so patient with this guy? Sweed. Are you serious - this is professional sports. These men make a kings ransom to do one thing PRODUCE. - Bannishment to the practice squad. For three years this guy has been collecting any where between 3-9 grand on Monday - for what? And I read some of the stuff on here like he will come around - no he he isnt. Either your a big baller or your not. If you have a rookie 3rd rounder coming in and out performing you your not.
The kicker - I dont care about what he has done in the past - he isnt consistant right now - driving every kick to the left - even the ones that are going through are bowing left - someone get this guys technique or head fixed.
Now to our pride...the defence
Please - dump the cover two shell - we are killed in the middle of the field - I know you love it Tomlin but damn.
The Steel Curtain is looking pretty pourous right now and honestly they need to do some soul searching. I dont care about what Tomlins expectations are - the man still must live up to them. WE HAVE TO MAKE TEAMS ONE DEMENSIONAL - AND THIS THEY ARE NOT DOING.
We all watched with wide eyes or awe and terror yesterday, as our defense got pushed ALL OVER the field on the ground for the THIRD straight week! And I pssst in distain as I watched Tyron Carter jog right next to a Bengal flying down the sideline towards our endzone with NO EFFORT to even try to knock him out of bounds 10 yards form the goal line. TYRONE CARTER you have no heart! Its the fourth quarter man - you lazy bastard dive at him try to trip him or something - NO HEART. I dont give a crap what else you did good for the day if you cant make the same effort EVERY PLAY for the money you make.
Its weird because some of the most tenasious hard to please fans on the planet seem so dosile in this terrible start to this season - why? Tomlin - he is a dream come true for a replacement and so I guess we just trust him to get it fixed
Dont forgot the first game wasnt a good one - its just easy to forgot all that wasnt done well because it resulted in a win.
Teams need to fear the Steelers not because of the name or mystique but because when they watch the film to prep they see a group of men who lay their heart out on the field, and play with such a level of tenasiousness that its scary - where is that? I havent seen it.
Thank You for reading my rant! Dont ever be patient with losses or poor performances - thats what breads the historical program culter that the Bengals and Browns have - nothing but the most recent win to be proud of. We as fans should demand that our Steelers fight to win each inch of the battle on that field like the Greeks of old to secure a victory. We should expect it - thats why I watch, thats why we root for them and buy and wear their gear to boast of such a teams efforts. I want to see my team fight with such intesity on every down that it makes me want to run through wall. And when they dont - we shouldnt go off softly into the night and patiently abid while we wait for our team or coaches (just Arains) to show up with some heart.

"Polamalu’s lineage can be traced through several roots. Chuck Norris mated with an Amazon Queen, and on the other side, Tony Hawk mated with Mother Nature.
The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."

thanks for telling us how you really feel
the feelings are mutual, TC is no Troy and probably not a starter on any other team in the league and we’re stuck with him for who knows how long. i need to watch the game again but i thought our secondary was pathetic minus Ike Taylor. i can promise you that Rivers will pick on William Gay no matter who he is covering and they will take their shots deep with Carter back there. i smell something and it is not good
Yes It was...
a ramble session -
I bet Leftwich wishes he was still in Pittsburgh Tampa Bay wont even be close to contending in that division for a long time.
Doesnt change the fact that we are stinking it up out there and not finishing the game. We are not losing closing games – your looking at the final score – we are losing by 2-3 scores and giving up double digit point spreads – to lose – and its happening in the fourth quater.
WARDANE33 – thanks – TC is garbage and we only have 1 true starter in our secondary right now and thats our safety. Lost one to Free Angency another to injury and the other is really only got the legs for nickle and dime work – Townsend.
You
just said what we all felt last night. I’m not going to say “everything will be ok”, but after the emotions settle down, I realize it’s not as bad as it seems. We’ve been spoiled here in the Steeler Nation and 2 subpar performances in a row really lights us up. Arians worries me but with Lebeau, Tomlin and Big Ben, I feel good about righting the ship.
I agree on some but disagree on others in your post
I don’t believe heart is missing from these Steelers. They will always come with everything they got. Their problems are in the talent department in the secondary as well as age and non-production in the front 7. Troy Polamalu masked how weak of a secondary we have. The front seven really is the front 2. Harrison is continually getting double and triple teamed so that is why his production is down. they do that because they know Woodley is non-existent and hasn’t even gotten close to a sack yet this year. Aaron Smith god bless him, is a Steelers legend but it appears age is catching up to him and James Farrior’s best days are over as well. Timmons is the only one showing anything. The offense I can’t even begin to explain, they have all the talent in the world at QB,TE,WR and even RB and they are extremely inconsistent. The o-line has actually played well enough to win the last two weeks, it comes down to execution. I don’t believe Bruce Arians is as bad as made out to be. Jeff Reed?? yes he had a bad day at Chicago and he did miss a critical one yesterday but it was 52 yards. even the best kickers in history have problems from that range. I have all the faith in the world in Mike Tomlin, but he is young and may have made a mistake by having camp cupcake this year. I don’t believe we’ll be in the playoffs this year but at least if we don’t good things will come of it because we can get a top 15 pick at least and Kevin Colbert is still the best GM in the NFL so he’ll get us back to contending soon enough.
best GM?
I don’t know if I’d go that far. 2008 draft: Mendenhall, Sweed, Davis(cut), Hills, Mundy, Dixon. Those are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head and none who are on the team see any appreciable playing time. So far, a complete waste of a draft. The only ones who I hold out any real hope for are Mendenhall and Dixon. No, he’s not allowed to completely blow a whole draft. His stock has dropped but I’ll give him a chance to redeem himself.
Don't know if this has already been said
For three years this guy [Limas Sweed] has been collecting any where between 3-9 grand on Monday – for what?
This is his second year in the NFL, meaning there hasn’t even been 2 years of him collecting pay checks yet. Still, he needs to put up or go home, and I’m one of his supporters.
BTSC Obituaries
OldManSteeler, ominously died two days before Superbowl 123 where the Ravens are set to attempt their 7th superbowl win, facing the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He was 86. His last words are believed to be "MALOR CAN SUCK IT!!!". Like friends and family, we can only guess what this could mean.

Seems to have the tools, is his problem just mental?
Despite the comparisons with Nate, I don’t remember this many high-profile drops. I wasn’t on BTSC back when Nate had his issues…but Sweed’s are more glaring because of the 2nd round status, and how big his drops are in the scheme of the game.
Sweed is tall and fast, let’s turn him around and make him a DB.
I think it is a mental thing. The guy turned it on in preseason, yet here he is back at square one
I think he is too electric to be a DB, hes shown himself to be a project, and projects take time.
Im just thankful that Mike Wallace looks the real deal thus far

Hope you're right.
My thought process has been that projects are not taken in the 2nd round. Even on a team that lets rookies learn a year or two.
Wallace is eating his lunch so far…..
Sounds like
Sweed is going to get a chance to play on Thursday night. Apparently Ward has a hamstring according to ESPN. They (ESPN) are making it sound as if Ward is going to miss Thursdays game.
That sux

Yeah I’m pretty confident we all knew that the second we saw the heading.
Possibly a bit overstated, but
SOLO might have bit the flesh off a few innocent bystanders when he snapped, but there’s a lot of truth in what he says. Tolerance is for pansies. Taking the week off is for losers. Let’s hope the Steelers take the field on Sunday with the same uncompromising state of mind. You don’t win a championship by putting up with BS.
