What should we do about our top 08' picks?

I just read an article by Ron Cook on the Post-Gazette(http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09272/1001626-87.stm) and I must say that I am pretty troubled by what I read about last years first round pick(as well as the number 2 pick but that goes without saying at this point). I don't know what the heck Mendenhall's problem is, he has a golden opportunity to see significant playing time and now we find out he is pretty much sluffing it off like no big deal. I wouldn't be suprised if we wound the clocks back a year when we drafted both Mendenall and Sweed and the whole Steeler nation was excited as excited could be. No way we should've picked up those two players especially Sweed, what a steal eh? I am pretty disappointed with Mendenhall, I was asking all game, "When is he going to get in there?" "Why isn't he playing since he showed some promise against the Bears?" The answer my friend, it seems like he has his head in the clouds and doesn't realize that the opportunity he has is slowly fading if he doesn't get his head on straight. I am just not sure about him and Sweed anymore, I for one had huge expectations for them and now I just barely can't keep my eyes open when a deep pass is thrown to Sweed. Since we are horrific on short yardage plays now days do we think seriously about bringing up Redman? At least it seems he has some hunger and desire to be on this team whereas I think Mendenhall could care less, where is the heart? I haven't really rode the whole Redman wave since the preseason but as this new season continues I start to wonder. I am in no way panicking but I just want them both to succeed so badly that I am being let down by them either not caring or being unreliable.
