Ok, I know this has been a topic that's been murdered in the past two weeks, but here are my thoughts.
Offense (27):
QB (3): Roethlisberger, Batch, Dixon-No surprises
RB (5): FWP, Mendenhall, Moore, Redman, Logan-Redman is more than worth it, Logan looks beyond electrifying. I take back anything I've said against him. Could be a great situational guy in the offense.
FB(2): Davis, Summers-Tank too versatile to go; ST, FB, RB-has been very solid while fighting through injury, will most likely be taken if risked to the PS.
WR(5): Ward, Holmes, Sweed, Wallace, McDonald-No surprises, McDonald could be another Mewelde Moore type FA find.
TE(3): Miller, Spaeth, McHugh-No surprises
OL(9): Starks, Kemo, Hartwig, Essex, Colon, Legursky, Foster, Capizzi, Urbik-no room for anyone else, wanted to see A.Q. and Capizzi-Pizzi may be interchangeable with Foster. Legursky has been a very serviceable player, shoe in. Stapler on IR.
Defense (24):
DL(8): Smith, Snack, Kiesel, Hoke, Ziggy, Eason,Harris.-I've been impressed with Sonny Harris and I'll take everyone's word for it, that he'll be gobbled up if he gets to the PS, keeping 7 gives us great depth, with a lotta potential in Ziggy and Sonny.
LB (8): Woodley, Potsie, Timmons, Deebo, Fox, Woods, Fraizer, Harrison.-No surprises, Davis may have gotten a spot but didn't perform all that well until he got to the 3rd stringers. I remember being impressed w/ Fox after seeing him live in action vs Philly in the preseason last year. He and Woods are diamonds in the rough; Fox may be Potsie's future replacement.
DB(8): Ike, Polamalu, Clark, Gay, DeShea, Carter, Mundy, Keenan Lewis.-Mundy, Keenan Lewis locked up their spots tonight, unfortunately Joe did not.
Special Teams (2):
K-Jeff Reed-Money
P-Danny Sepulveda-Stud
LS-Greg Warren
Practice Squad: A.Q. Shipley, David Johnson-:( guy deserves a roster spot, but there's just no room, Joe Burnett, Bruce Davis, Jason Capizzi, Mike Reilly, Roy Lewis.
Travis Kirschke either cut or PS? Keep him over Summers? That's the one thing that may have to go down, but I'll use this one as my own personal pick. Kirschke has be reliable, and had a good night tonight, but he's definitely replaceable, and I believe he's the oldest guy on the team right now.
