Willie Parker traded to Seattle
OK, not reallv but this is the type of business only move that the Pats have made over the past several years, unloading guys who still have football left in the tank and getting something for them. For those of you who really want "the next Willie P" to make the team without carrying 5 tailbacks, and limiting some other area of the team, it might make sense. He's probably gone next year anyway, right? Personally, I love Willie, and I'm sure he'll make some plays this year that only he and a few other "really' fast guys can make. However, if Mendenhall is being phased in, say 50-50, how many carries do they need to replace? They'll still have Moore, Redman, and a fullback (please God, Summers), plus logan now and again, and I'm sure Redman and Logan will make some plays that Willie would not. I dont see Redman getiing arm tackled as hes hitting the hole, by a DT whos 99percent blocked. Not hatin' Willie, just a pet peeve concerning aspects of his game. I probably couldnt pull the trigger, but its just food for thought.

Not a good way to start the day without finishing the coffee...
…..which is now all over my keyboard. Thank you very much.
Don’t scare me like that. I just finished reading the articles with Coach T telling everyone that FWP was the man, and then I see this? I believe that’s dirty pool my friend.
But, and I hate to re-open the wounds from yesterday…you mention Redman above and the hot rumor is that he’s not on the roster…..
So you really just want to trade FWP for Redman.
Just stop it.
I'm just here to express my Steelerness!
Why The Propensity
lately to post false stories? Yesterday it was Arians fired and today it’s FWP traded. How about we post opinion or fact and quit with the fiction unless it is funny satire?

I liked the story...it is the title.
Maybe add “tease” to the end.
or
How the Pats would use Willie
Fans have emotional ties to all things Steelers, and do get genuinely agitated.
That said, I do enjoy the posts of funny satire.

Seriously!
I come here for late breaking news and updates on my beloved Steelers. You can’t go throwing me off with these National Enquirer-esque headlines.
That being said, Willie Parker is our feature RB. Its almost sacreligious to even suggest we would trade him to Seattle of all places. That’s something the Raiders would do! We, obviously, are not the Raiders!

Reality check...
…Redman apparently didn’t make the team, if Bouchette’s inside scoop is to be believed. Google his article on Steeler roster cuts to see for yourself.

I also dont enjoy the fake posts and should have picked a different title. Sorry to all, It was really 2 parts intrigue, 2 parts toungue in cheek shot to all the folks who want to keep everyone, 1 part boredom, and 1 part "I dont want to see the kid running for the Browns for the next 6 years. But , seriously, we cant go without a fullback, and I get tired of losing guys and getting nothing for them. Just the curse of drafting well.
All Good Micculus
The post was good. It was the title. Just don’t want a rash of these “Tomlin leaves Steelers For Cowboys” titles.
Regarding FWP, I think we are lucky to have him. All those writing his obituary had better hold the presses. Looking at the RBs, the Steelers will dress 4 of 5 on game day. Logan will be listed as the extra after FWP, Mendenhall & MeMo. 34 hasn’t really showed me anything yet. So the bulk of the carries will still go FWP. He is in a contract year. He will run hard and run for 1K plus. Mendenhall may get 5 carries a game unless he impresses. IMO the FB will be DJ. If DJ is dinged up they will activate Tank on game day to fill the FB role.
Next year FWP could return or with decent numbers could get a longer and more lucrative contract elsewhere. If 39 leaves the Steelers would still have MeMo, Mendenhall & Logan plus Tank & Redmon (PS?) and anyone they draft or find FA. Your last statement about “the curse of drafting well” is so true. I can’t remember a deeper Steelers team than this one. There are about 58 guys that I would like to keep.

I get the boredom part, Micculus. Boy Howdy. Will this preseason never end?

You know what? I might have to kill you
Willie is one of my favorite players and I am holding onto the faint hope that we resign him, but slowly accepting that it might not be in the stars.
However, when I read the title of this my heart sunk, I was disappointed (don’t worry, not like heart sink crying or anything) and everything. I’ve always cheered for the underdog and he has always been one.
Hell, even the Arians fired posts made me sad (you don’t fire your offensive coordinator right before the season starts, thats a recipe for disaster, heres looking at you Buffalo).
I might have to hunt you down now………….
Getting so tired of these fakes...
Its just annoying. I mean I KNOW its not true.
And why the bloody hell do you trade a proven commodity, when you have NOTHING PROVEN BEHIND HIM?
Nobody on this site seems to understand how trading should work save for a few wise ones. You dont trade unless you have ample supply behind the item you want to trade. You trade when you have a surplus. You think Mendenhall is a full feature back now? I dont.
surpluss lol
and further news on the dirivative markets today……I think most people wanted to keep redman cuz they arnt happy w Rashard.why does eveyone hate the redman supporters? Where are we supposed to post? Bears site when THEY sighn him? kids tough.

Once again....
shakes head… rubs temples… lites a smoke
Why do you trade somebody when you have very little in the way of proven commodities behind said player?
Is there a single soul in this forum that believes, right now, Mendenhall is starter material? I dont think so. Waltzing Mewelde even could play, but we dont know how well he would do.
You dont trade a player out when you dont have enough behind them.
Knew a guy named Jim
