Okay this may be stupid but...
you know on 1st down measurements when the chain gang pulls the chains across the field to measure the exact spot of the ball? inches if you will, and the have to have to officials run the chains out to that point..
Is there anyway that that could be exact? I mean if you ran out either slightly angled one way or another wouldnt that affect the measurement? Everytime I see a measurement short or just past the tip of the ball I wonder if the officials ran at an angle. Is there a Callobrated official way they do it ? or do they just guess?
Sorry for the rather bland and slightly dumb post but ive always wondered about this.
ps
Ive been training for special teams ace/Wr...who can I contact for a tryout? : ) (cmon like youve never thought about it)
