Around SBN: Seahawks Trade for TE Kellen Winslow

7 Round Mock Draft

Well, we made it through that 32 Team fans mock draft and I think I did pretty well, I'm going to post the picks and see what you all think and how happy you would be if this happened in April.

Traded our 3rd and 4th for Buffalo's 3rd and 5th, in order to secure Kyle Wilson

1. Terrence Cody, NT Alabama

I don't think Hamp will resign, he is looking for his last big pay day and we will likely not give it to him. So we need a NT who can plug in almost straight away. I have watched every single Bama game this year and although Cody's weight is an issue he is just as athletic if not more so than Hamp was at this stage. I do no see the problem of having a number as high as his if you can carry it well.

2. Morgan Burnett, FS Georgia Tech

This wasn't actually my pick, but it is what I would have made anyway. We need a guy who can ballhawk in the secondary and allow Troy to do what he can do. I think Clark has been holding Polamalu back these past few years with his inconsistencies in coverage. Burnett can step in and fix that.

3. Kyle Wilson, CB Boise State (pick from Bills)

STEAL OF THE DRAFT, even though I had to trade up to snag him, he is still the best value pick in the draft. He has had an amazing senior bowl week and could well be the number 2 corner in this draft. Many guys now have him as a 1st round prospect.

5A. Brandon Carter, OG Texas Tech  (pick from Bills)

Hmmmm, I think the line lacks a bit of swagger, a bit of agression. With Carter you get the aggresion and it automatically strikes fear into whoever has to run against him (google image him). He is obviously a very good pass blocker coming from Texas Tech and only allowing a single sack last year, but he is also a road grader type of guy, weighing in at 350 he could easily anchor our right side.

5B. Joe Pawelek, ILB Baylor

I've seen us taking him in the 4th round of mine and jay's mock drafts over the past few months, so end of the 5th is great value for a guy who I think, after a year to learn under Potsie and Fox could actually have some potential to be a Larry Foote guy to out new Farrior, Timmons.

6. Koa Misi, OLB Utah

Who is the main backup at OLB? Our starting ILB... that needs to change, Misi was the best value pick I could see here and was also a very impressive player at Senior Bowl, dominating some 1st and 2nd round OT's in one on one drills.

7. DaMon Cromartie Smith, SS/CB UTEP

He will be the replacement for Tyrone Carter, I'm hoping the ball skills run in the family because I have been unable to see enough tape on him to adjudge if he is a player or not. A bit of a 7th round flyer here.

to be honest I see no holes on Offense

We currently have a stud QB, Stud RB, 2 Stud WR’s and a developing superstar, the leagues best TE and 5 solid O-linemen, only position that NEEDS to be upgraded is RG, which is what I think I’ve done.
Thanks man. I will be doing another after the combine.

Who got

Holliday?

I getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.

Cheatriots

you talking about Holliday from LSU

by PCISteeler on Jan 30, 2010 11:42 AM EST up reply actions

we need a center too...

Unless Legursky steps up…Maybe foster becomes the RG? BTW, why wasn’t Foster drafted? Did he get into trouble in college?

I think it was the same reason Wille was UD

coach didn’t like him. We had a Tennesse fan come over when we signed him say he was good enough to be a 1st round pick. I think it was here.

Lmao

I’m currently in the process of making my own 7 round mock draft, and was gonna post it later today. I still will, and I like your Wilson pick, but I think at this point he may be a steal in the second round, as most teams have him as there #3 corner on the draft board after his big Senior Bowl week. We’ll see how he does tonight I guess. For WIlson to fall to the third round Perrish Cox, Warren from Michigan, Ghee from Wake Forest, and a couple others are gonna have to have some nasty combines/pro days. I’d guess that Wilson is probably a low 4.4 40 time, maybe high 4.3s, but unless he falls below a 4.5 I can’t see him slipping past the second round, especially since he’s probably the best punt returner in this class.

But If things had unfolded like they did in that 32 mock draft

I’d be pretty happy.

Taking longer than I thought. Very near future is what I should have said.

do you guy’s honestly think cody will still be around by your pick?

by AV23 on Jan 30, 2010 1:41 PM EST reply actions

I honestly think he might be around for our second pick

He will, beyond any reasonable doubt, be available at 17 unless he runs a 5.2 at the Combine.

by Bitfailu on Jan 30, 2010 4:07 PM EST up reply actions

don't we have two 4th rd comp picks?

Mcfadden and Washington? couldn’t we use them to move up more? How about Rolle in the second round?

by nycsteelerfan on Jan 30, 2010 7:14 PM EST reply actions

well we ignored comp picks

as we didn’t know exactly each team would be getting.

brandon carter

do you think we would let him keep his make-up? seems a bit lame and douche-y to me tbh

by hasay on Jan 30, 2010 11:01 PM EST reply actions

yeah, it is

but he is still a scary guy even without it, he’d probably get fined by the No Fun League for it anyway…
