Bobby April currently unemployed
He is the the Bill's former ST coach and his units were alway near the top in the league. Steelers would be wise to make a move for him.

Agreed
….i think he’ll be the hottest coaching commodity out there as far as Special Teams go. We really aren’t keeping Ligashesky are we?
Keeping him would be criminal.
April would solve one of our major problems almost right away. I hope we persue him quickly.
Amen!
Tomlin has always preached how this game is played in THREE stages not two. Now is his opportunity to truly prove it and get rid of Ligashesky and hire a legit ST coach. Open up the bank and lets make it happen!
Bobby April was our Tight Ends/Special Teams Coach from 91 to 93.

Does he work and play well with others????
The relationship with the rest of the coaching staff is critical for an ST coach.
The offensive and defensive coordinators each are guaranteed their top 11 players will make the roster. The ST guy gets a couple of ST aces, and then has to play 53 card roulette for the rest.
Ligashesky failed miserably last year, but the Steeler secondary woes cost him a key roster spot and led to Madison being cut. Ratliff for Madison was the biggest Steeler cutdown mistake since Vic Eaton for Unitas.
Whomever Tomlin chooses for ST coach will have to work well with the other coaches to make the persuasive case for this “third unit” needs, and he will have to shut his mouth when he doesn’t get his way.
Bobby April seemed a bit loud and showy in his previous stint with the Steelers. Not that that’s a bad thing. But chemistry is key in a coaching staff, and if the comfort level isn’t there, he’s not gonna be in the ’burgh.
I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer.
