Obviously Steeler Nation has its eyes squarely set on this coming Sunday's pivotal Week 4 matchup with the hated Baltimore Ravens, but before I get back to my final preview and picks for this week, one last look back at Week 3. Most of us had high hopes that the Steelers would be able to take down the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, even if it was on their home turf The Steelers defense had looked too dominant through two weeks for most of us to feel too concerned with young Josh Freeman and the rest of the still-young Buccaneers offense.
Still, nobody expected the offensive outburst that Charlie Batch engineered in the second and early part of the third quarter. Over the course of four possessions in quarters No. 2 and 3, the Steelers found the endzone on four straight possessions, and amassed a hefty 234 yards of total offense in the process. That's a fine day's work, let alone a fine four-series stretch.
So, in obvious fashion, we'll award Charlie Batch with our fictiious BTSC Gameball of the Week. Here's to hoping he's got an encore in store for us this Sunday at Heinz.
