I'm sorry, but I noticed this play while watching ESPN today and I just cant let it go. I cant find a video of just the one play, so here's a link to the full game's highlights. The play starts 2:31 into the video. Bills-Ravens late in the 4th quarter, Ravens up 34-31, Fitzpatrick and the Bills are driving downfield to tie the game. Fitzpatrick throws 13 yards to Steve Johnson, a DEFENSELESS RECEIVER, who is BLATENTLY horsecollar tackled by none other than Ray Lewis. No flag, no ejection, no fine, no suspension. I cant tell you how much this infuriates me.
I dont know who Ray Ray paid off so that he can get away with this stuff, but he must be high up on the NFL Executive food chain. The fact is Ray Lewis is just as dirty of a player as the next guy, and yet he is lauded and praised as being "aggressive" while guys like James Harrison are labeled as "dirty". Seriously I cant take it anymore. He gets away with hits like this all the time. That hit in particular was viciously dirty. He aimed directly at Ochocinco's head, lunged with his helmet, and wasnt fined. Thank god he was penalized, and it ended up costing the Ravens the game. Still, no one stepped up and said, "Hey Ray Lewis, you just cost us the game. Stop playing like a murderer". Oh wait, thats right, he is a murderer.
Im so outraged by this double standard the only way I could think of to make this sort of thing stop is to give it as much publicity as I can, which is why I'll be posting this everywhere I can.
