How crooked is college football and sports in general?

With these new allegations against Cam Newton I am beginning to believe I can tell which colleges cheat: THE GOOD ONES.  If your team is bad then you probably are not cheating.  if you are in the top 25, i would say there is probably cheating going on, like a 90% chance?  I think you have to cheat to compete, the key is not getting caught and it sounds like Cam and his dad never learned this lesson. I mean they flat out told a Miss recruiter on separate occasions that Auburn paid better. Who could make this stuff up? Hilarious, if it wasn't so sad.

The teams who used to be good but stink now, like Notre Dame, are not cheating. but they will continue to stink until they bend the rules, i doubt any coach can turn ND around without having alumni throw $ around. this is the way to get top level talent.

it is hard to catch cheaters, you need an informant. would we have ever known of steroids in baseball if it wasn't for canseco? i am guessing that less than 5% of cheaters are caught. college football coaches figure out a way to funnel $ thru rich alumni or some other scheme. then, on the unlikely chance the s*** hits the fan they can deny everything and go to the pros or another school with no penalty.

notice that both Reggie Bush and Cam Newton are accused of amounts in the hundred of thousands. is this the going rate for top Heismann level talent in NCAA Football? must be?

The more i think about it, i don't really want to know the truth about cheating in sports, b/c i am beginning to believe that the majority are cheating. look at baseball, cycling, track and field. the houston texans going thru players lockers looking for banned substances. it only makes sense that many pro football players are using undetectable steroids or something like it. steroids are much more useful to football than baseball players. not only do they build muscle and make you faster but they heal injuries faster>> key to the NFL. i can only hope i don't ever go to ESPN and see: NFL players from all 32  teams being investigated in steroid scandal.

again, i cannot prove anything nor will i ever be able to. just an observational opinion but it makes me think that cheating is pervasive in all sports, we just don't know about it, probably never will and are better off not knowing.

like in the movie A Few Good Men, Tom Cruise yells "I WANT THE TRUTH!!" and Nicholson thunders back "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!"  I used to think Nicholson was just an a** hole in this movie but now i have to agree with him.
