In case, you were wondering what the new Captain Morgan skin was all about, well, today's the second of five Fridays that we'll be drumming up some tailgating talk. Our planned topics have us moving on from drinks to the grub. Everyone has just one or two favorite drinks, but there's a multitude of foods we all enjoy on football Sundays. So, if this week's anything like last, I'd imagine there will be some awesome looking dishes and food ideas shared by you all.
A few of my favorites after the jump....
1) Chili - though I regretfully admit that I've never made it. The lady friend makes bomb chili so why mess with a good thing. She either makes white bean chili with chicken (spicy as hell); or just your traditional ground beef, red/kidney beans, and the likes.. I'm hoping one of you has a recipe to share in this department.
2) Bacon and jalapeno wrapped shrimp - quite easy appetizer really. Wrap bacon around a shrimp, jab a toothpick through a jalapeno and the bacon, and throw on the grill or in the oven. Get some BBQ sauce as well to drown it in.
3) Steak au poivre - not exactly gameday food, but if you need to get back in the good graces of your partner after spending your whole day watching football, grab a couple of affordable steaks, pepper 'em up, cook in skillet over medium-high heat; remove steaks when ready; put them in warm but not too hot oven; keep the grease drippings from the pan and add heavy cream + red wine or cognac if you have it; whisk and add what you need to make it sufficiently thick. Lots of recipes out there to follow. It's a classic French dish that's easy, tasty and capable of making you look like you know what you're doing when you really don't.
And oh yeah, as part of this here sponsorship, you
