I have commented here for a couple years, But this is my first post.
After Hunting Camp Mock.
I have factored in at that least 30 Juniors will declare for the 2011 draft.
Mock A, is if the Steelers Resign CB Ike Taylor
I have come to a personal conclusion that the Steelers offense is the Weakest part of the team. The offense routinely fails to keep ball posession and sustain drives. That are required to put the Steelers team into the lead in games it should win easily. Much of which I believe is the fault of the weakness in the OL and some is Bens slow start in many games.
Mock A
29 th pick - WR Michael Floyd; Junior Notre Dame 6' 3" 227 lbs.
Floyd is the type of receiver the Steelers lack. Tall with good hands and ball adjustment capabilities. With ARE on the decline. Ward nearing the end and having little confidence in Sweeds future on the team.
61 st pick - OG Benjamin Ijalana; Villanova, 6' 4" 320 lbs.
I beleive he is every bit as good as Mike Pouncey and could possibly be still on the board this latein the second round.
The Steelers could go with a CB here, But I don't see it if they resign Ike Taylor.
93 d pick - FS/CB Marcus Gilchrist; Clemson , 5' 11" 190 lbs
A good special teams player , kick , punt returner. Played one year at SS and part of senior year at CB. Has speed to cover side to side. He probably is best suited to play FS in the NFL
125 th pick - DE/DT Cedric Thornton; Arkansas. 6' 4" 285 lbs. has the tools needed to develope into a Starter for the Steelers at DE. Another player I like if he drops past the third round is OT Chris Hairston out of Clemson. Which would give more needed competition for the spots on the OL.
157 th pick - ILB Mark Mohamed; California 6' 3" 245 lbs. A sure tackling ILB. Doesn't have the speed I'd like . Might be closer to a sixth rounder. We will just have to waite and see.
Another player who the Steelers could consider taking if he falls this far would be RB Da'Rel Scott from Maryland, 5' 11" 205 lbs with good speed. If the Steelers decide not to resign RB Moore.
189 th pick - RB Derrick Locke; 5' 9" 190 lbs. Could provide the out side Speed at RB the Steelers lack for swing passes and tosses to the RB in the backfield.
Two other players I see possible here are K Alex Henry and QB Ricky Stanzi from Iowa. It is unlikely Stanzi falls this far,but you never know till draft day.
221 pick - DT Chris Neild; West Virginia 6' 2" 304 lbs.Plays NT ,but could be aHoke like player in the future. A DT that could play
