Steeler Nation bombards league office
I thought about just posting this as a comment in one of the existing threads but I wanted more people to see it.
The phone number for the NFL office is 212 450 2000
A commenter on Bob Smitzik's blog called the office to complain and actually talked to one of Ray Anderson's assistants.
I called and asked to speak to Mr. Anderson and was told that I could be put through only if I was a "personal friend" of his. I told the pleasant woman that I had some questions for Mr. Anderson and that I would be willing to talk to Mr. Hanks if Mr. Anderson was busy. I was put through to Mr. Hanks' voice mail and am currently awaiting his return call.
I'm not naive enough to expect Merton Hanks will return my call, however I am astounded at the ease with which I was able to get into the league office. If he does return my call I simply want to ask him if they reviewed the H2H hit on Ward and the play which resulted in injury to BB and ask for an explanation on those reviews so I can try to find some consistency in their application of their new rules.
I encourage everybody to call the league office and respectfully lodge a protest. Maybe someone with journalistic talents who possesses a credible platform ( hello Mr. Bean, moderator of BTSC ) could even persuade Mr. Ray Anderson to explain himself to the steeler faithful. At the least, we will let them know that we are not buying the league's statement that they are not applying their discipline unfairly to the Steelers

hey yo
"I will not retire from the NFL. I will continue to play the game with the same passion, intensity and focus with which I have always played and let the chips fall where they may. I have never given up, quit or walked away from anything in my life and I am not about to start now. I will not let down my family, friends or the Steelers Nation."
I called
and I said “hey there little miss riding hood……”

I could see an old Roy D. Mercer call working well. Anybody remember those?

I would settle for Wendy King...
…to come out of retirement to have a “Party Line” chat with the League office.
should I bring my tools?
"I was in the right place at the right time. It was zone coverage, and he ran through my zone...That was a good, clean, legal hit. I put my head across the bow. To be honest, I laid off him a little bit. I could have put a lot more into him." -James Harrison on the Massaquoi hit
On the Cribbs hit: "I thought Cribbs was asleep," Harrison said. "A hit like that geeks you up, especially when you find out the guy is not really hurt, he's just sleeping. He's knocked out but he's going to be OK."
sure
and bring your shoes too

AWESOME!
This is the type of thing that the league MUST listen to. We are their “constituents” so to speak.

I just called the number
I was very pleasant and direct when the nice lady took a message for Ray Anderson, who was in a meeting. I told her that I was a member of Steeler nation and that I thought Mr. Anderson should go to this blog and see how reasonable we are and explain himself more thoroughly. Please just look at the facts, and GO STEELERS!.
I suggest everyone chime in and let your opinion be heard...
also perhaps Steelers and Ravens fans can make a few banners and signs for sunday evenings game. It’s the AFC Norris and damn it this is how we play football.
Let us pray....

by hitting hard like always and playing the wonderful game of football
it aint rocket science
Ask Ray Anderson all the questions you want
NFL.com is holding a live chat session with Anderson tomorrow at 2pm EST. This is our chance to ‘bombard’ the league office. Lets take over the chat room!
BUT...
… they control the ISPs and also you must go through a monitoring process before you get on the chat (SOP at this level). It needs to be on a commercial open forum not tied to the NFL – like The Turner Network.
Anyone with connections at CNN to setup a Townhall interview?
