We the fans of the National Football Leagues (NFL) are concerned about the excessive executive discipline (fines and suspensions) being assessed against players of American football as it relates to "hits" on the quarterback, "crack back" blocks on "defenseless" players, incidental helmet to helmet contact and lower body tackling. We the fans of the NFL feel the "wow" element of aggressive defensive tackling, quarterback sacks and offensive blocking is being legislated out of the game of American professional football. The fan base of the National Football League has expanded to its current level of popularity in large part due to the controlled violence on the field. The current wave of excessive involvement by you, Roger Goodell and the executive officers of the NFL now threatens the game that has been watched, enjoyed and supported by the fans of the NFL for decades. We the fans of the NFL feel that the content of the game is now being adversely affected by a very small group of executives and that this dictatorial oversight is compromising the integrity of the game of football. We believe the watering down of the sport of American football under the guise of "player safely" will in effect diminish the popularity of the sport and will create a limited contact sporting event that no longer resembles the full contact sport we have come to know and love. This watering down effect will impact all the established NFL player records from the past and as a result compromise the historical legacy of the game. The sport of MODERN NFL football is moving to a point where it will no longer resemble the game we fans have supported and loved all these years. It is due to our concern for the game that we are composing this petition. We thank you in advance for your thoughful and prompt attention to our concerns and the accompanying petition
