sign him
he’d be a cheap FA AND he’d be perfect for temp replacement job til lewis or burnett gets their stuff together.
I think Vasher is a victim of scheme
Were he to come to Pittsburgh, I think he would shine. Especially with Troy prowling the field over/under him.
He would be an instant upgrade at corner, I say sign his ass! Along with Darren Sharper (if NO lets him go).

I'm worried this could be another Donnel Woolford (I think that was his name)
Maybe because he is a corner from Chicago, it brings back bad memories……Jeez, we got Woolford from Chicago years ago and he absolutely sucked… I know that really doesn’t mean anything now . Jus sayin….
I wouldn't know whether you're right
although I expect you are. All I can say is that we have the best safety in the league by anyone’s estimation, and he didn’t help us a bit for most of the season (other than, as I’ve mentioned before, to vastly improve the view on the sidelines.) So if you’re correct, that would make me nervous.

thats why you have back ups
Gays no starter but he could be a quality back up if Vasher doesn’t miss long, extended periods of time due to an injury.
But why sign a guy that's injury prone?
That’s wasting money. Another guy on the market is Marlin Jackson, a former 1st rounder who is also injury prone. They’re both talented, but both don’t play enough for starting corner money.

+1
While it’s still tempting to roll the dice if he comes reasonably priced, but he probably couldn’t finish the year, and we’d be wasting time while our draft talent remains under-developed.
KC tried to give an imjury prone Steelers ILB another shot
hoping for good health, and guess what they got, an oft injured Kendrell Bell. There is a difference between a guy who suffers a few injuries (Like Willie Parker) and injury prone (always getting nicked up and missing time). Vasher is the latter of the two.

If he's cut...
I’d be for offering him a moderate contract. He’s got a decent skill set when not injured…

yea i trust the front office to know not to overpay him. i think if they sign him it will be for a fair deal and i’ll be happy to have him and i think if they dont sign him it will be because he wanted too much money

You guys signed former Raven CB, David Pittman today.
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Wilson-David-Pittman-signs-with-Steelers.html
Former Baltimore Ravens cornerback David Pittman signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to his agent.
Pittman is a former third-round draft pick with the Ravens who was selected in the 2006 NFL draft after playing collegiately at Northwestern State (La.).
Pittman has also had stints with the New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans.
He played this past season for the New York Sentinels in the United Football League.
Playing seven games for the Ravens during the 2007 season, he recorded 10 tackles and two interceptions.

Just say "we"...
As in “We signed former Ravens cornerback David Pittman today”. Go ahead, you know you want to.
What did you think of him during his time spent at the Nevermore Land Ranch? Does he have a shot?

Not nice, NYSF.

True dat.
The comment volume on BTSC would be reduced by at least 60% if we couldn’t mock people.

because I can’t pull that off

He would lose out on the Steeler fan playing the role of Troll award each year if he said "We"
If you buy a foreign made product you give money to a person who will not be buying an American made produdt that you get paid to make. Think about it next time you're at the store.
I still expect that he's going to slip up sooner or later,
and then he will be exposed as a homey posing as a troll. Which is pretty sad, really.

Hey, maybe Tomlin thinks he can get something out of him. Tomlin so far seems to like to take gambles on cheap CB’s. Wonder where he got that idea from?

why would he be cut??
in an uncapped year it would just be a profit/loss deal. Not sure if the bears care.

while we're talking about free agents who will never be in the black and gold
because the steelers never really get anyone…..
Pierce from the Giants just got released. That would be awesome for our MLB woes….
he's past it mannn

You think Farrior is slow?
I getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.
why not bring teddi bruschi back to the game?
or have junior seau come back for the 6th time?
