The Chief
The question posted under the "get to know you" thread about favorite Steelers moment got me thinking. Many younger fans probably never saw this. Many older fans probably had tears in their eyes and alcohol running through their veins and don't remember 1/12/75. Hope you enjoy. This is a GREAT moment in Steelers history. Probably one of the first outside the Immaculate Reception. It starts about 38 seconds into the video.

Goosebumps
And the questions for Bradshaw, dissecting a couple of plays. Commenting on the criticism of what kind of QB he was and how it didn’t matter that they had won…some things never change …really stirred up the memories, although the fuzzy ones of an 8 year old
I was born some 47 days later. I never saw this, so thanks. Man, what a difference 35 years make in how the post-game is done.
What I was thinking too
Man, what a difference 35 years make in how the post-game is done.
Bradshaw was still in full pads (I think he still had shoulder pads on)…they were running clips, and really getting at the plays they were talking about, like they were sitting around a table and having beers…. I kind of like it better than all the razzle dazzle production values…but time marches on.
But maybe they should sit around with a beer while they do the post game stuff…..
"rexall - the name you've known your whole life" ah not really
Man how could everyone have been so mean to #12 and called him dumb when the guy called all his own plays and clearly knew what he was doing?
I guess he had a lot of bonhead plays in the early days. That’s how you learn. Luckily Steeler fans were able to tolerate that before he got good. We didn’t have to deal with that with the Big Boy.

1st time I saw the Steelers on TV
The crew on Monday Night Football were questioning whether Bradshaw was smart enough to be an NFL QB. 1971 IIRC

Three winners
Art Rooney, Chuck Noll and Terry B.
When watching those highlights, it’s hard to avoid the parallels between Bradshaw and Big Ben. Both guys extend the play and rarely miss an open receiver. The tradition continues!
Thanks 5020
For sharing and having the technical ability to know how to post those things! What I loved about the Chief in that clip was that one collar was out of his jacket and the other collar in. That’s the way the man was. He was so humble and unassuming, you never knew he was an owner of an NFL team. He was powerful because he never considered himself powerful. He was never concerned about collars. He was concerned about people.

MR, do you remember the story of the rookie who saw this old man....
…cleaning up some stuff either in the front office or the locker room, and he thought the guy picking up the gum wrappers was a janitor or something…until a veteran informed the kid that it was the Chief.
I’ve read and heard that, but am not sure if it’s true or just apochryphal. Help me out here.
I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer.
- Homer J. Simpson
Following the 1980 NFL Draft, Pittsburgh’s rookies gathered in the lobby of Three Rivers Stadium to await individual meetings. An elderly fellow walked into the lobby in his button-down sweater and began to empty ashtrays and straighten up the room. One of the rookies, Nate Johnson, asked the old chap if he was the janitor. “No,” the man said, “my name is Art Rooney and I do a little of everything around here.” Unphased by the faux pas, Rooney sat down and held court with the young players.

OT
Each player sends their toughest guy into Thunder Dome. Two men enter, one man leave…with the W. I’m sure some would still say this is unfair because we have James Harrison.

Awesome video...
This was well before my time, but it is good to see it as it was aired. To see Mr. Rooney and Coach Noll and Terry Bradshaw just after the biggest win of their careers. Good stuff.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some Rexall vitamins that I need to take.

Terry & Ben Career Resemblance
Watching that video makes me think about how it seems like Terry’s career is being relived through Ben.
