The 36th Chamber of Shaolin?
Never saw it. Since I don’t have Netflix or cable anymore, it’s hard to watch different movies.

Shouldn't Kung Pow technically be considered a comedy that had kung fu in it?

I can't remember right now, but
it was an actual 70’s kung fu movie, and Steve Odenkirk re-dubbed all the dialogue and inserted himself. Except for the cow, the tongue, and the one bewb, I think it was almost exactly like the original.

My list isn't as long as I thought it was going to be
Enter the Dragon
Bloodsport
Fists of Fury
Afro Samurai (Not sure if animation counts but I’m gonna go with it)
Mortal Kombat
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Way of the Dragon
SteelFever...
I am disappointed in your last two movie threads, but thats just because I’m not really into Gangster or Kung Fu movies, but thats just me.
Anyway, the Kill BIll movies were good.
Sorry man
Gotta take the bad with the good. I don’t particularly like the Gangster genre either, but it was requested.
You can pick the next one, if you want.

nah dude
i was just messing around, still don’t really care for gangster movies or kung fu, but I meant no harm. Just puttin in my 2 cents.
Just seeing how you started with comedy I would have then gone to the other major groups first. You did action next which is good, but I’d go with drama, horror, and musical next (i think thats pretty much it for the big ones). Then I’d get even more specific with stuff like gangster (which can be considered action/drama), kung fu (action), fantasy (action/drama/comedy/horror, pretty much any of them), animated and so on……..
sorry to be intruding, but since football seasons over i got time to kill thinking about stuff like this.
Don't worry
I’ll get to most of them (Psychotronic might be one I’m skipping).
Pick one for next week: Horror, sci-fi, or musical.

I'm letting shleeve pick this time
You can do it for next week.

no, your making me feel like a an ass..........
but anyway…..if you must pick one for next week I’d go Sci-Fi……or Drama, your choice obviously. Probably Sci-Fi though, that’d be more interesting…..
yep defiantly Sci-Fi……..
so in theory, if I had to pick one for next week it would be Sci-FI but seeing as how I will not pick one because I don’t wanna be a bully I will leave the choice up to you. These are your threads, and very entertaining ones at that.
pick Sci-Fi
what was that movie
with bruce leroy in it? Had Shonuff as the afro-weilding bad guy…

My List
I like kung fu movies. No particular order:
Five Deadly Venoms
36 Chambers of Shaolin
Shogun Assassin
Drunken Master
The Kid with the Golden Arms (starring The Venoms)
Master of the Flying Guillotine
Just trying to give love to the classics that are now sadly obscure. If you’ve never seen Five Deadly Venoms, 36 Chambers, or Master of the Flying Guillotine, find one of them right now.

I didn't even know they made a second Drunken Master...
I really like the older Jackie Chan movies: Who Am I?, Super Cop, ETC…

Agreed
I am a huge fan of Jackie Chan. I hate that they Vin Dieseled him.

Yeah
The only reason the Shanghai movies didn’t make it onto my list was I consider them westerns. I just wish they could have gotten someone better than Owen Wilson to be in them.

Kung Fu, the television series
“What have you found? – Master Po
“A spider Master, it has trapped a fly. Should I destroy his web?” – Young Caine
“Why? – Master Po
“So it will not make a prison for other living things that were free.” – Caine
“Look more closely Grasshopper. Were you to destroy this web, would not the spider knowing no other way, build another?” – Master Po
“Yes, but I can not kill the spider!” – Caine
“Look more closely still. Is not the spider also trapped by its own web?” – Master Po
“Yes, but if I do nothing it will capture more living things, make them prisoner, and kill them!” – Caine
“You’re concerned then with the fly, to which nature has given wings, that it may move about freely?” – Master Po
“It is cruel to see it made a prisoner.” – Caine
(laughs) “Still you do not see. Which is truly the prisoner? The fly, which moving freely enters unknown danger? Or the spider, which having spun its web, remains, never knowing the pleasure or the danger of the fly?” – Master Po
Steel , I have never watched one kung fu movie.....
Tell me the one movie that I absolutely have to see.
I dunno if this counts
but one of my favorite movies of all time is
“Seven Samurai”
which was later adapted as a western and called “The Magnificent Seven”. Amazingly, the original is nearly 3 hours long and was made only three years after the Japanese were defeated in WWII. An incredible film, but it is subtitled, in case you don’t like reading dialogue.
Seven Samurai
Love that movie. I wasn’t sure about the post as Samurai movies are not martial arts or kung fu, but it could have been a typo. Fever named a number of good Samurai movies. If you like them and don’t mind subtitles, just look up Akira Kurosawa and Toshirô Mifune, and you basically can’t go wrong. Yojimbo is great, and will later be remade as " A fist full of Dollars" with good old Clint.
If you like anime, the anime version on Seven Samurai is pretty good too.
Fever,
Since I was critical of the last post, I’ll admit my shortcomings here and say your list is significantly better than any I could muster. A couple of Jet Li movies that weren’t mentioned that I liked were Unleashed and Kiss of the Dragon.
It's fine man. :)
Don’t worry about it. That’s why there are so many genre’s out there, because some people like action, and some people like romance (I know those aren’t the genre’s in question, just a contrast/comparison).
I am a self professed movie nerd. I loves me some movies, the more obscure the better. I can guarantee that you will have never heard of some of the horror movies I put in my list for the (Horror) thread. :)

+1
Kiss of the Dragon was a good one

Not Mentioned But 50 Fav's
1) Beverly Hills Ninja…gosh I want to worship at Nicollette Sheridan’s Temple.
2) Big Trouble In Little China…Don’t know if this is considered in genre but Kurt Russell is too cool.
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
Jack Burton
“When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if you paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol’ Jack Burton always says at a time like that: “Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yessir, the check is in the mail.”
Love that movie.
I'm Gonna Git You Sucka
it has the Carl Douglas song with Kung Fu Joe.
