BTSC Predict the Pick
Alright everyone, we've had a good amount of time to take a look at the draft class for the upcoming 2010 NFL Draft. We've heard opinion after opinion from our own posters and from the Draft Guru's around the web. So it comes down to this...
What do you think? Instead of a poll, which never represents the opinions of everyone, we'll do it like this, short and sweet, give us the name of the guy you think will be our Pittsburgh Steelers first round draft choice. No explanations needed, names will suffice. We'll do a review in a few days where we can have a little more debate, but for now, let's keep it simple.

With the 18th pick of the 2010 NFL Draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select Florida QB Tim Tebow. (not a RB!)

Here’s an interesting thought on the Steelers drafting Tebow and trading Big Ben to the Seahawks for both of their 1st round picks. Not that I’m for it or anything, but it’s interesting none the less.

Heaven Forbid
I would rather wait and get McCoy or someone to develop behind Dixon if we were trading Ben for 2 firsts. I wouldn’t take Tebow at all.

Can I change mine to Suh?
I had a dream last night that Detroit offered to trade us first round picks straight up. It made sense so of course I accepted. Had I known I was dreaming I would have insisted that they throw in their second rounder too. My bad.

OldManSteeler, ominously died two days before Superbowl 123 where the Ravens are set to attempt their 7th superbowl win, facing the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He was 86. His last words are believed to be "MALOR CAN SUCK IT!!!". Like friends and family, we can only guess what this could mean.

They are either going NT, CB, or ILB
Williams, Wilson, or Weatherspoon (sorry I couldn’t just say one :) )
Haden is...
.
the one guy we can actually get who can help our defense remain great this year when Polamalu is inevitably injured from breaking the laws of physics…. It might or might not take a trade up….
(Yes, I know Haden is not a safety.)
If we’re talking about a guy who can make us great next year, and who wouldn’t require a trade up, (and who we might still get with a trade-down with Green Bay or someone) I like Weatherspoon because he can work inside or outside. (I much prefer inside). And wouldn’t it be nice to have another second round pick in this deep draft?
Dang, that wasn’t short and sweet….

Why can't Mendy bust a long TD run? We could use it.
Brandon Graham
Trading down in 1st rd, picking up an extra 3rd rd pick
Even as a Buckeye...
I would love this pick. However, I believe Graham projects better as a 4-3 DE or possibly a OLB in a 3-4.
Plus, back-to-back DEs? I can’t see that happening—we have greater needs. Then again we very rarely draft for CURRENT needs. Keisel will be 32 at the start of the season, Eason is already 30, and the jury is still out on Harris who will most likely back-up Hood rather than start opposite of him. (Can’t wait for the DE Positional Review)
Graham doesn’t fit the mold of what our DEs have always been, but perhaps Tomlin would want to slowly shift away from what our D has “always” been. Or Graham is groomed to replace Harrison.
I posted Iupati, but either of these guys could see significant playing time in 2010. Did I mention that I would love this pick? Not to mention the extra 3rd rounder in a rather deep draft.

Haden or Graham
if they fall. If both are there, Haden because two great athletes, but we need a CB. Lupati if they don’t fall. Kyle Wilson, CB if we trade down. Too long?
hhhheaaattttthhhhh!
"You have to under promise and over deliver." Mike Tomlin
Mike Iupati or Dan Williams
Either guy would be a stellar pick, but I choose Iupati first because offense simply is more central to today’s game than defense. The league wants it that way and that’s the way it is.
Correction

This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

Interior OL
Iupati if available, Pouncey if he’s not. And, I think someone moves in front of Pittsburgh to get Iupati. I hope it’s not Bulaga, the OT from Iowa. Iowa does an excellent job of coaching their OL, but a history of busts in the NFL.
top 3
1. McLain (just think of all the Die Hard movie montages they would do at Hienz Field)
2. Brandon Graham
3. Kyle Wilson
I dont see Haden falling to us at all unless he blows out a knee between now and the draft. Either move up for McLain or trade down a few spots for Graham or Wilson.
With the signing of Foote
I don’t see us taking McClain.
