Good Free Agents - Stupid Ben
Ben - WTF? You're not 21 anymore. Whether he did anything to the girl or not, he shouldn't have been there.
I am thrilled at the free agency moves. Will Allen has a couple of good years left, Battle became a star catching passes from Alex (who?) Smith, Randle El opens up the offense again and adds another QB to the mix in case we need it (right Ben?).
The bad thing is, we have to focus on the QB position AND what other positions we need in the draft. We need to add to the O-Line, but now we have to talk about QB's that may be there at #18. The good is that there are some good guys out there, not to mention Dixon, who we should expect to see more time in the pre-season. I would look at Tony Pike and Dan LeFevour, who are likely to still be there, not to mention Colt McCoy.

Really? ANOTHER "dumb Ben" post?
There’s plenty of these you could have commented on, and not created a new fanpost.

Really? I came over here to see what you guys were saying about this issue and to my surprise, only found this FanPost and an overlooked FanShot. In fact, even this post is hiding the “Stupid Ben” in a second title. It seems like Steeler nation is trying to act like this isn’t happening.
Go to TMZ or your blog for that crap

Yeah, my fault.
I didn’t realize how may FanPosts you guys have over here. I’m use to seeing much less over at the Beatdown. I dug a little and found some from previous days. Apparently this is old news for you guys and my first impression was incorrect.
I don't visit the others
so I take for granted that there is always posting and discussion going on. Sorry you guys don’t write as much, didn’t know this isn’t normal for every team, or most teams.
we've had more than enough posts on this...including mine
Generally you click on the title of the fan post to see what’s in it.
Bad Andy, Good Pizza.
I can see Ravens fans still cannot figure out how to use SBN well. Maybe I can write a tutorial to help you all figure it out.
And we are not in denial, most of us just don’t want to speculate on something where a considerable lack of information has come out.

Wow… So I typed before I thought. I’m sure everyone has done it. It probably won’t be the last time.
If you want to crucify me for a mistake, go ahead, but I know how to use SBN just fine.
Weird…I recall you crucifying me for doing the same thing last year on the Beatdown…

Over at BB (last year), you were making ignorant points, and I was refuting them. Earlier today, I simply made a mistake (which I admitted). This is the most pointless text I’ve ever typed. I’m done here.
You should get a life.
It seems like Steeler nation is trying to act like this isn’t happening.
That would be the definition of an ignorant and borderline (being generous) moronic statement.

hey
“I’m done here.” → “You should get a life.”
the two don’t correlate. you’re making ignorant points, and i’m refuting them.

Seriously?
He’s a Millionaire football star in his 20’s, what is he supposed to do? Sit at home and knit? I would probably be doing the same things if I were him. You can’t blame him for wanting to go out to a club and have a few drinks like a normal guy in his 20’s.
What's wrong with kniting?
It’s a lost art.

all 20-something guys would be doing the same thing, AND, no one can tell me that girls don’t practically fall over themselves trying to get his attention. you’re at a night club, drunk, and you had the same intentions as he did.
of course, he was being an idiot. so was she for being alone with a guy who already has a very public sexual assault allegation against him. i think she needs to be fined for stupidity.

wise move
although i’m more than a little annoyed the post i made less than 24 hours ago was pushed outta the listings already with 2 or 3 5 line takes on roethlisberger & a “steelers sign scott”…after it’s already been announced a couple times.
course maybe none was actually interested in mine lol.
I guess my free agent ones didn't help
sorry bro

you just get a rant against Ben off the page and two more show up. They all say the same thing and none of them are stating any facts.

I deleted my post for you and am sorry to have bothered you with such useless drivel that you already knew. I still don’t see your Pulitzer back in the fanposts. Maybe you should delete some more on your own. :)
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
just because you put a smilely face at the end doesnt make your comments any nicer
i honestly appreciate you deleting your post although i didnt ask for you to do that and not that’s not my call to make. the only reason why i didnt agree with you post is because it was already announced both on a main page article AND a fan article. yours was basically only a link, which is perfectly fine if it’s something new. i saw you’ve been on the site longer than i and have contributed a lot more. thus i assumed you knew how the fanshots work & why i was also annoyed with that aspect.
my inital comments was more me venting frustration. there have been a large number of posts the past couple days (which i think is a good thing), but more than just 1 or 2 of the posts are only the bare minimum length required for posting, there is already a post on the exact same topic, and the person really didnt add anything new to the conversation. i’m sure you can appreciate my annoyance when my post a spend over an hour making was pushed out by because a bunch of ppl decided to take 5 minutes and repeat what has already been said.
i’ve never even implied my posts are more important than anyone else’s. as i said above, i dont care if my posts are replaced by others as long as their contributing something. i also realize if my most recent post was so awesome, it would have at least generated a rec or comment in the afternoon & morning it was up. i dont think more should be deleted so ppl can read mine. i realize this is a community blog & if ppl wanted to listen to me spout out my opinion 24/7 i’d have my own blog or talkshow. but you said something sarcastic to me & got a sarcastic response back so i dont know what you expected to get other wise.
1) YOU called me out
2) It was my first post in weeks.
3) It didn’t contain just a link. It was at least 75 words to be valid. FYI Pittsburgh Trib JUST reported that the signing was now official and posted a story at 12:24 PM.
4) It asked some questions that I thought deserved discussion that I hadn’t seen. Is Tony Hills roster spot in jeopardy? Also made a prediction that Foster would beat out Essex for starting RG further making Hills expendable. All valid discussion points away from the Ben talk you so despise.
5) The smiley face was because I too am not that pissed off. I know you were just venting but I again reiterate YOU called me and my post out specifically. Look how defensive you are getting for me defending myself. A “sorry 50, nothing personal” would have done nicely instead of telling me to learn how to do a fanpost. I respect your posts and often participate and never have chastised your effort. IMHO it is elitist and you IMPLY that your posts are more important by your words above about how unimportant mine and others are. Sorry you felt mine was not up to snuff. I too take pride in my work and that is why I deleted that one.
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
i’m sorry if you felt i was criticizing your post as bad. i wasn’t & never did. it was a perfectly fine post and my only complaint was that I didnt feel it necessarily brought anything new to the conversation. obv you did, that’s why you posted it. and THAT’S my reasoning for agreeing with johnny above that he shouldnt delete the posts if i or other ppl didnt think they should have been made because other ppl may find them interesting. posts should only be deleted by the admins if they’re offensive/spam/etc.
i again never have said my posts are better than others, quality wise. i dont appreciate being called an elitist (especially since i havent called you anything) because i dont like some ppl’s posts, feeling they should be comments. many many other ppl have been far more condescending towards others’ posts if they dont think the posts are worth while, but i dont see you calling them elitists.
i can understand why you were offended with what i said. if anyone said anything negative about one of my posts i’d probably respond in the same initial manner. but you’re not “just defending yourself” cuz in reality you made fun of me too.
i should’ve responded it wasn’t anything personal, cuz it wasnt. but the reason why i didnt do that is because what you initially said was with another comment. i didnt know if you were being serious & making it a backhanded apology or if you were just joking around. so i figured i’d do the same with a comment i felt could go either way & see where it went. becuz of your second comment, i assumed the first comment was just another backhanded statement. IMHO, i dont believe your sarcastic referral to my post as a pulitzer & suggesting i delete other posts isn’t any better than me saying your post didnt add anything.
We're Cool
and I never called someone who criticizes others elitists because their criticism wasn’t directed at me. Call me out and I come out. Seriously, we’re cool t1. Yesterday was yesterday. No issue today. Just before you call someone out check and see who it is. I have been here since 2007, posted many threads, been published and show everyone respect until…
And, what do you think of the fact that this new OL Scott is a “teachers pet” and can play LT and RT? Is this the end for Tony Hills? Especially if Foster beats out Essex? Do you think Foster beats out Essex? Just wondering. Perhaps I should post? :)
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
lol
-i dont think scott is anything special because he only signed a one year contract for league min. if he was better than that we would’ve given him a longer contract or signed him for more. but he could be a decent backup T & playing both sides is impt since our only decent backup T is/was our starting G. i think we’ll probably draft someone or do some more low key signings at T.
-odds are hills will be cut in training camp unless he somehow starts impressing ppl.
-i think foster definitely has potential. i also hope urbik picks it up. i dont think essex is a good G and dont ever want to see him in our starting lineup on a longer term basis again.
Foster Fan
I am a Ramon Foster fan. (of course I touted Stapleton after 1 preseason game and he eventually got cut)
I am with you on Essex. It was an indictment (no Ben reference) on our OL talent that he was starting. He is a serviceable game day swing guy that can play G and T. At this point in his career I think he is too expensive. Think 10 will be his last year as a Steeler.
I think Hills is gone. The Scott signing signaled that to me as Scott is a Kugler guy. Just as the El & Battle signings signal what could be Sweeds end. Jury is still out on Urbik. Too high a pick to cut yet.
When You Run The Ball Good Things Happen
