"What Now?", or Our entire draft is still only worth the 6th overall pick

Here are the values of the Steelers' current, tradeable picks in the 2010 draft.

1st round, 18th pick = 900

2nd round, 20th pick = 380

3rd round, 18th pick = 180

4th round, 18th pick = 66

5th round, 20th pick = 32.2

5th round, 24th pick = 30.6

6th round, 19th pick = 19.8

7th round, 18th pick = 7.4

If you add all of those up, you get 1616, which would be just enough points for us to get the 6th overall pick and draft Jimmy Clausen.  We're not going to do that.

Others have talked about moving up in the 1st round.  The only way that happens is if there's a player the FO is absolutely in love with.  I don't see it.

Here's my scenario.  We trade our two 5ths, 6th & 7th.  That could give us (by value) the 102nd overall pick, Kansas City's 4th pick in the 4th round.  That would give the Steelers a 1st, a 2nd, a 3rd & two 4ths.  We would also have two compensatory picks in the 5th round and one in the 7th.

Now we have 5 picks in the first 115.  We'll be lucky if we're able to find five players who can actually make the roster this year.  How would Steelers fans feel about this haul?

Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State

Vladimir Ducasse, OL, Massachussetts

Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford

Brandon LaFell, WR, LSU

Kam Chancellor, S, Virginia Tech
