Steeler Nation #'s are droppin quick

Stay connected for news and updates

To say fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers are angry at the recent incidents involving Big Ben-Jeff Reed and now Santonio Holmes, would be an understatement. I hear fans of the black & gold calling in to national radio shows and denouncing their loyalty to the Steelers and to be honest I can't blame 'em, this period of time is a embarrassment to all involved emotionally with this organization. I guess you could argue that you need to stick with your team through thick and thin and I agree with that assessment but it seems like most Steeler loyalist are past that point when it comes to this current team (i.e. Terry Bradshaw).

I hate to say it, I hate to agree with it but it's been said by other columnist and bloggers the past few weeks and its staring everyone right in the face. Are the Steelers the new Bengals?! Maybe but to be honest there's no comeback for that 'slap in the face' statement, if in fact black & gold fans are sincerely making the switch. Steeler Nation has to grin and bear this current storm of improprieties and hope no other major off the field incident happens this off season or any other future off season. Considering Steeler Nation is the biggest NFL fan base in the world, loosing a few thousand people won't hurt the over-all numbers but its still a long-term reality check to know there are fans stripping themselves of everything Steeler related and now rooting for another team.

Steeler Nation for some people has now turned into Raven Nation, Bengal Nation and Brown Nation....Ouch!
