Everyone, including myself, are excited about the "two headed" monster we will have in our backfield in 2010. As I look through our division, and can't help but notice the following:
1) Ravens, My thought on this and how we match up against them is this: on offense, they have the advantage on the o-line and HB, for now...RR at this point is a better back than Mendy, maybe because mendy missed this first year, but never the less he is better.also, don't forget about Mclain! .So my conclusion is the the ravens have the better o-line and running game. Receivers: Even missing Tone, who BTW killed the ravens when he played them, is gone. I still think we have the advantage on receivers and TE. I do think by us losing Tone and them gaining Boldin, they are closing the gap. A lot depends on Sweed. Our biggest advantge against them, on offense is Big ben! He IS the best QB in the division by ions, just ask the Raven fans how he killed them the last 5 games in a row! I know this might sound silly, but passing agaist the ravens is MUCH easier than throwing, so why would we change that against them anyway?
2) Defense: we have the advantage on the D-line assuming Aaron is back with Kiesel..also linebackers, we have a distinct advantage..ask Raven fans about Timmons and woodley crunching Flacco..With Troy in the secondary, no contest..The problem is we play them in week 4 with no BB...will we be able to run against them? Will Pouncey start?
3) Bengals: I will not get into them, no disrespecting them but to me, they must put 2 winning seasons back to back for me to believe in them! I really believe that if we beat them in 2009 in week 3, as we should have, they would have withered away, as usual!
