'Disruptive' Santonio Holmes Escorted Off Pittsburgh Flight
When I saw this headline on the WPXI website, my immediate thought was, "Whew! I am soooooo glad that he's not our problem anymore." While I had my doubts at the time, the Rooneys and our coaching staff really seem to have made a good call on Holmes, especially after handing off the Jets' 5th-round pick to the Cardinals. Now we have BMac back, and landed Dwyer with the 6th round pick. With Holmes' recent behavior, the trade is looking more and more like a great move.
Story here.

wait -- it wasn't Dwyer
My fault, I should have checked first. We got Dwyer in the 6th round (188th overall), but not with the pick we got from the Cardinals’ trade. The result of that trade was Antonio Brown (195th overall). Not as exciting a result, but still a solid move to let Holmes go and get McFadden back.

Without Holmes, the Steelers don't win their 6th SB.
It wasn’t too smart to dump him like they did. On the other hand, he’s a receiver, not a franchise-player QB like BB, who they absolutely could not afford to lose.
6th Superbowl????
Not to mention his suspension would have kept him off the field for 4 games anyway. At least now we have some guys that can actually suit up and play…and furthermore, do not have what is appearing to be more and more of a really bad attitude…the last thing the stillers need at this point.

I get it now. THE one catch to unite them all. Where my head was at I don’t know….

Nice catch.
But only because it was a superb throw. He let the previous one go through his hands.
Definitely a nice catch. But notice that Wallace made a mirror image play last season.
You have an argument that we don’t win #6 without Holmes — he was spectacular especially on that last drive. I appreciate what he did for the team, just as much as I appreciate Deebo taking it to the house at the end of the first half.. Yeah, Holmes was good for us. But does he have his head on straight these days? Can’t we win another Super Bowl without him?

What is it with WRs?
Seems like 80% of the “behavior” problems in the NFL come from WRs. Tone, buddy, get your head on straight or you’ll end up like Plax.
My heros have always been Steelers...
I read it's because he
wouldn’t turn his i pod off. Sounds pretty lame.

Pretty stupid...
Move by all involved. Airlines have the rule for some reason, but it’s a weak one, in my opinion.
But seriously, Santonio, you can’t go an hour without listening to your music man? Really? I love music, but come on. Just another instance of immaturity. Maybe he should have taken his ball and gone home.
I don’t doubt some derogitory statements about the city/ airline/ workers were used, and an overly emotional flight attendant and or fan got “scared”.

BREAKING NEWS
Here is raw amateur footage of Santonio Holmes unruly behavior on that airplane. The sound is off because it was taken with a self phone and the footage is so blurry Tone appears white (probably could use a tan).

I hate it when they make me turn off my ipod
take off and landing are the stressful parts of a flight and the best time to listen to music. But when they tell me to turn it off I do it without question. It’s not worth getting into an argument over.
I think many flight attendants don’t even care anymore since it’s such a dumb rule. They rarely bother me anymore about it. I recommend a good set of ear buds with the rubber things you put right in your ears. You can put the cord behind your neck and then one shoulder and run it down the side not facing the aisle. I recommend Pink Floyd’s Animals or Led Zeppelin I for stressful flights. Or a nice Eyes of the World or Dark Star or maybe a crazy Playing in the Band from the Grateful Dead.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
SANTONIO vs. The FAA
Santonio and his I-pod. This guy is a tool. Is he that big a star that FAA regulations don’t apply? Unruly? A neusance? Get the FU({ outta here.
This guy is a tool. A 5th rounder is more than he’s worth. The Jets will see. So long and good riddence.
Everone says no big deal about the I-pod………
The “No big deal” I get. However, having said that, Goodell has set the standard that criminal prosecution is not mandatory for action. As an airport/aircraft employee, (and no I don’t throw bags), his behavior is what TSA and the “Marshals” are suppose to prevent. As an avionics tech with the airlines I believe his I-pod more than likely would not interfere with instruments during take off and/or landing, but there is the chance, however slight they may be, that it could. And that is why they are to be turned off during those two times. His arrogance and mis-steps cost him with the Steelers, and his disregard for the safety of the passengers on that flight should get him suspended. Good luck NYJ…..you get what we don’t need.
