Chris Scott

After watching the video of Chris Scott, presented to me in another post by HighSchoolSteeler, I just want to make it clear that this guy is bad. He is a poor man's Willie Colon, in every sense of his game. Those of you her on BTSC who think he will someday be a LT in the NFL are wrong. He barely had the footwork to play LT at Tennessee. His footwork is so slow. On almost every single pass play, his man got right by him every time. Despite what scouting reports say, he is far from a mauler in the run game. In fact, he looked rather sluggish and slow in the run game, too. I understand he has position flexibility which Tomlin likes, but I believe he only has a chance of being a contributor to this team after a few years on the PS. He was by far a reach in the 5th round of the draft, and I believe certainly much worse than the rest of this draft class. Although this guy is a little bit smaller than Willie Colon, he looks like a lump of mass to me. Maybe if he goes hard next off season, loses weight, and turns that fat into muscle, than I see him as a potential backup on next year's team. That being said, I still like Ramon Foster and Trai Essex as backups rather than him.

I know it seems like I am being kind of harsh, but I am just trying to understand where Colbert & Co. were going with this pick. Maybe you guys can help me out.
