Are we, as Steeler Nation, hoping for Lamarr Woodley to have an awful season, or even get injured for the whole year.  I just read http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10136/1058529-66.stm , by Ed Bouchette of the post-gazette.  If what he says is true, than that means the only way we can retain Wood for a multi-year contract would be for him to suck this year, or have a season ending injury.  This way he won't be able to get a huge contract from another team.  According to this article, Wood earned $460,000 last year!  He was our best player on that side of the ball!  I know the Rooney's know what they are doing.  I know that they let an older Joey Porter walk.  but this situation is different, Woodley has the potential to become the best linebacker in the league in the next few years!  I make this post because I need to know why, or have an idea of why we didn't resign him this off season.  Now, it is inevitable, that he will not be a Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011, and its a shame.
