Kaye Cowher Loses Battle With Skin Cancer
A very, very sad day for the Cowher family and all of Steeler Nation as the wife of former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Kaye Cowher has died of skin cancer. The Cowhers have requested privacy in the matter and have not released any details on the tragic passing. Mrs. Cowher is scheduled to be buried on Monday in her native state of North Carolina.
Be blessed Mr. Cowher and may you and your children find peace and comfort in this most unfortunate of times. As the son of a survivor of a typically very deadly form of cancer (keep getting better Mom!), I can only imagine the sorrow Bill and his three daughters are going through.

Thoughts and prayers with the Cowher family.
BTSC Obituaries
OldManSteeler, ominously died two days before Superbowl 123 where the Ravens are set to attempt their 7th superbowl win, facing the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He was 86. His last words are are said to have been "MALOR CAN SUCK IT!!!". Like friends and family, we can only guess what this could mean.

It is so difficult losing family members, but when its your mother its even more difficult.
Sending warm thoughts and prayers to the Cowher girls and Bill during their time of need.
Thanks Blitz for screwin up my Saturday...
Although, I’ll bet Bill’s messed up worse than mine.
My grandpa died (on my birthday, of all things) from cancer, 10 years ago. My gramma had a partial masectomy almost 20 years ago. It never gets any easier…

As opposing quarterbacks crouched under center, Lambert pumped his legs up and down, thumping the turf like a war drum. He mouthed threats to opposing running backs that would make even the most hardened Catholic nun weep for humanity. He fulfilled those threats with coldblooded suplex tackles. He may or may not have chain-smoked at halftime, depending on who you ask.
For sixty minutes each Sunday, Jack Lambert was a demon.
RIP Mrs. Cowher
I’m at a loss for words…please Lord, bless the Cowher family with the strength, and love that they need to overcome this troubled time for them. I am sorry for their loss.

Terrible News
I didn’t know she was sick but this explains a lot of the reasoning behind Cowher retiring at a young age and staying away from the game so long to be with his family. His wife was sick.
I will never forget the scene after XL when Cowher and his girls formed a circle and did a group hug and high five. Condolences to the family. There are no words to ease their pain…

I was thinking the same thing. Along with his being mentally ‘somewhere else.’ This is sad news.

King Solomon asks God to teach us to number our days...
…for our time on this Earth is short.
Whether by knowledge or fortune, Bill Cowher was able to spend the last three years at Kate’s side, watching their daughters grow into honorable, independent young women. No Lombardi trophies, nor any multi-million dollar contracts, could surpass that gift of time.
When she needed him – in sickness – he was by her side. God bless him for that.
Coach Noll used to tell his players when it was time to get on with their life’s work. Coach Cowher has reminded us that our life’s work is first to love and provide for those we hold dearest, especially our families.
Politicians talk about family values. Pittsburgh guys like Bill Cowher value their families.
Say a prayer for the Cowher family tonight, and tell your own family members how much you love them. Our time on this Earth is short, and you will never regret the time you spend with your loved ones. Today is a gift. That is why they call it the present.
I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer.

Pray especially for the girls
Always hard to lose a parent. But it is especially hard when you are young. Lost my mother when I was 20. And prayers as well for Bill. And 50 is right. This puts an entirely different light on the events of the past four years.
A reminder to us all; we don’t really know the people that we comment on and what they may dealing with. Be careful and respectful.

Shocked and sad...
My condolences go out to the Cowher family, they’ll be in my thoughts and prayers. I didn’t realize Kaye was ill. This does shed new light on why Bill resigned as coach when he did.
REST IN PEACE!
Don't even tell me that God has a plan

I hear ya.
But I still do believe Gods hand is in everything. But I know what you mean. Take someone like Kaye, and leave some of the trash that’s out there right now…makes me hurt. I felt the same way when my mother passed. “Why not take one of THEM?”
