roy williams (the WR)?

http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/207910-will-cowboys-cut-williams-now-that-bryants-signed?eref=sihp

it appears that profootballtalk is fabricating a story out of pure speculation and no facts again, but it is an interesting situation

would you want Roy Williams on the Steelers? he isn't that far removed from being a game changer with Detroit, and despite all the bitching and moaning from Dallas last year he put up 600 yards and 7 TD's, pretty solid for a number 2 guy

and if he comes to Pittsburgh, barring injury, he would be our 3 (would he sign on to be the 3? idk? does he want to win or does he still think he is a 1 in this league?)

i love Hines and think he is one of the most underrated WR's ever, but with the increased age and coverage he will face this year, asking his to slap up another 1000 yard season is difficult, Mike Wallace has all the tools, but is still unproven in a full time role (for the record i think he will be a stud)

i think Roy Williams could fit perfectly here as the 3, taking pressure off both Hines and Mike, plus coming here fans wouldn't expect him to be "the guy" which will allow him to play with much less pressure too.

looking at our 3's:

honestly, im not sold on Randle El, he is a slower, older player from the one we had 4 years ago when he was a fringe 2/3 guy at best, Battle will probably be a non-factor. Sweed is hurt. Sanders is a rookie, and although he sounded promising in mini-camp, he is still a rookie and traditionally rookie WR's struggle the most

idk it's all rumor and speculation, but for the right price, i can't see a situation where Roy wouldn't help.

thoughts?
