It's finally happening. My pilgrimage to Mecca. The Holy land. Going home. Many of you might know me as "that draft-obsessed guy who posts too many mock drafts." But what you don't know about me is that I was born and raised in the South, mostly in my current home of Georgia, and with exception of one regrettable weekend road trip to Wisconsin I've never been farther north than Tennessee. I've always dreamed of taking a trip to Pittsburgh and now I am finally going. My roommate and I are going to The Winter Classic on Jan. 1st. While I always thought my first trip to the Burgh would be for a Steelers game I just couldn't pass up the rare opportunity to see Sid the Kid play against Ove on New Year's day at Heinz Field. What I need from you people out there in Steeler land are some suggestions on places to go, bars to visit, sights to see. I've been scouring Google like a jealous stalker for every little restaurant and bar review. I want to make my visit so great, so wonderful, that I won't want to come home. I already booked the coolest hotel. It's an Inn actually. It's called "The Inn on the Mexican War Streets". It's phenominal looking and it's only a mile from Heinz Field on W. North ave. I've also found a few places to visit that sound good. Apparently "Delucas" is the best breakfast place in town. And of course I'll be popping my "Pirmanti Bros." cherry while I'm there. Can someone tell me if the German food at "The Penn Brewery" is good or not? Because I LOVE Bratwurst and I would be very disappointed if it wasn't worth going for. A friend told me about a place called "The Grand View Saloon" on Mt. Washington that is a lot of fun. These are the things I need to know. So please give me your imput. But remember I'm 28 years old, I'm single, and I don't have any children. So while I appreciate a reccomendation for the Children's Museum I'm more looking for fun places where I can eat, drink, and be merry. Thanks in advance.
