Steelers Sign Kevin Colbert to a 5 Year Deal
"The Steelers announced today that Director of Football Operations Kevin Colbert has signed a five-year contract extension with the team.
Colbert, 53, enters his 11th season with the Steelers after originally being named to the position in 2000. Financial terms of the deal were not released."

Beat me to it....
But this is great news. If Bill Cowher comes back to coaching within the next few years, he’ll have to get his own personnel guy.
Yeah
I was worried about that happening. Now it won’t matter.

Does he play RT?
Great news. Colbert getting locked up was a concern. But with him in the fold for a few more years, we’re in good shape.

Bill Cowher doesn't want Colbert
If he came back to coaching he’d also want to be his own GM. If Bill Cowher ranked the best personnel minds in the NFL Bill Cowher would be at the top. (Just saying; I love me some Bill Cowher).
Anyway that’s what I’ve always thought… if nothing else, this extension will stop that concern being floated.
Good stuff
Now can Woodley get shown some love? (I know, I know, 30 percent rule). But still.

Hopefully nothing like Dumerville's contract

Could you please explain at me?
How does he get a contract but not Woodley? Seriously. Explain that at me using really small words.
CBA bad. Dumb rule. Woodley good. Woodley get paid soon enough.

Well, we will be competitive at worst for 10 more years...

+1
There is something to be said about stability. And while we don’t win the SB every single year, we sure do better that everyone else. Coaching and front office will do that for you.
Amen to that
Seriously having the FO people locked up is a bigger deal.
The less you know of Colbert, the better he’s doing IMO. You always read about changes in FO because they suck. You dont see it for the Steelers. Our FO is rarely mentioned by name and to me thats a great thing.
Happy to see the man staying with it. A few questionable decisions but mostly home runs.
No wonder signing Worilds and Pouncey is taking so long
Someone’s distracted….
Also predicted that Worilds signs today

I wonder what's taking Pouncey so long?
I mean, he got that $100,000 I sent him in advance. (Har har har)

He has to wait for the rest of the 1st round guys to get it going so he can be slotted.
Worilds is the one I’m more curious about…..
exactly
Unfortunately while we’re among the best at signing rookies fast, the first rounders kinda take a wait and see approach and usually we have to just go with the flow. Its usually not a problem. Its how it goes every year. Unless you got pick 1 or 32 its really a crapshoot as to who signs first.
Awesome news
Was also worried Cowher would scoop him up.
Now all we need is a top ten blunders list.
"Who is Joe Namath? This is a guy who, if he played in the league today, I'd probably just go hit him late and see what he did, just for the hell of it. Joe Namath can go to hell; he can kiss my ass." - Greg Lloyd, after NBC commentator Joe Namath accused Lloyd of playing dirty.
great news
as you guys said, now the Cowher rumors finally get coffined. Anybody thinks Pouncey will show to camp even if he doesn’t get a contract? He strikes me as that kind of guy.. but then again, not having any kind of injury insurance might be dangerous.
Pouncey seems like the kind of kid who will show up. He is committed to his craft. However, money rules all in the world, so who knows.

He won't show
If he gets injured without the contract he’s screwed.
No, if he’s “that kind of kid” he’ll just tell his agent to make it happen.

Excellent!
I don’t think Worilds and Pouncey will be unsigned come Saturday, and then it’s football time!

He's on the money
Nah Steven Colbert is the boss. Jon Stewart is alright but he created the monster that is Colbert and SC wins big time.
lol
My dad likes the daily show too, I tried to get him on steve but he doesn’t get the sarcasm I guess. Its hilarious to me.
Steelers football is 60 mins.

I love both
if I had to pick, I’d take the daily show because of it’s little advantage in terms of seriousness. Honestly though, both are pure greatness :)
Great show, or greatest show
I’ll put you down for great.

Gotta love his focus and the results he has helped bring.
