To Be announced Thursday... ...Only one more left.
Steelersdepot (twitter feed) is saying that LB Jason Worilds has agreed to a 4 year 3.7m with 1.9m guaranteed. It should be announced Thursday.
With Worilds out of the way, only one more to go. The Steelers don't usually have any problems with not getting their first round pick signed by camp, but will they this year??
Only two first round picks have been signed and there is uncertainty with a lack of a CBA.
I think it will get done tomorrow and announced Friday. Any other opinions??

The NFL is trying to trick me
At first I looked at that amount and was like “man, that isn’t much”. Then I was like did I really just say 3.7 million dollars is not a lot of money? D’oh!

Owner lockout
Actually, it would not be a strike, but an owner lock out. Yes, these guys do get paid a ton of money, but the guys that are making ridiculous money are in the minority. Remember, these guy’s careers only average 2-3 years and then they are done, back to flipping burgers.
Anyways, the owners opted out of the last CBA, the players are fine with it. The owners want them to take in less than the 60% they are getting now. The owners have already signed contracts with the TV networks that will pay the owners, even if there are no games in 2011.
So, what I am saying is that there is enough money to go around and the owners and NFLPA both need to stop being so greedy.
Well
actually only one side needs to stop being greedy to get a deal done, once one side makes a concession then we’ll get something done. But what might save it is the 18 games. You can argue that the increase revenues from an 18 game season will be enough to compensate the owners enough so they won’t complain. To me that is the only hope otherwise, asking the players to take a cut when the league is more popular than its ever been is just ludicrous.

Of course
you’ll have to give the players something too. By installing a rookie pay scale there will be more money for the vets which might make everyone happy. Then owners won’t be losing money on guys who end up not panning out and vets will get at least some of the money that used to go to 1st round draft picks. Add another bye week and expand the roster to 60 players and I think that would do it.

If Troy, Harrison and Woodley are on top of their game, that is good for 9 wins right there, regardless of what is going on with their offense. - Mr MaLoR 28/6/10

First order of business would be to shorten Ben’s suspension to 2 games. (He still needs to learn a lesson)

Things can always be worse....
What needs to happen
is just a written down Laws
If you commit this offense the first time then this happens
If you commit this offense the first them then such and such happens
and stiffer penalties for multiple offenses. Will it take time to consider all the possibilities yes but if you want to police the league then you need to have laws to enforce. Right now it just seems like vague standards enforced when necessary.

As of this morning, it looks like another couple of 1st Round guys signed.
Hopefully that means the slotting will pick up and we can get Mr. Pouncey into camp. I would hope that he’s staying in a hotel down the road just waiting for this happen. He’s got to be up here at some point, so might as well save some time and be ready to go once he signs.
Pouncey is probably not in a hurry
he’s still sittin on the 100K he got in college right?
