Will the 49ers try to steal Redman?

Just saw that Glenn Coffee retired from football on Friday and it made me wonder if the 49ers would try to steal Redman from us.  More after the jump

I think we can all agree that Mike Singletary is intense, focused, and driven. In short, although he played for the 49ers, his style of play tracks with the fire and passion we have come to expect from those who wear Black and Gold.  Now that his team has lost Glenn Coffee and has no discernible back-up running back for Frank Gore, it made me wonder who the 49ers would consider adding to their team.  Knowing the kind of players that Singletary wants for his team, it doesn't take much an a leap in imagination or logic to think he might look towards Latrobe for a replacement.  When the Packers were in need of building up their running game, they picked Noah Herron and then John Kuhn, so there is a precedent for NFC North teams to look at the AFC North.  Moreover, Redman is clearly a guy that loves football, is passionate about the game, dedicated to improving, and, the most important factor as far as Singletary is concerned, the kid runs hard and is not afraid to lower his shoulder when necessary to get the extra yard.  So, we need to get the message to Coach T that Redman MUST make the team this year because we'll lose him in a heartbeat if he's on the practice squad.
