Fullback

My apologies if already posted, but the Steelers ran out of sets using a fullback way more last night than has been the case in recent years, at least over the past couple of seasons.

Until my DVR stopped recoding, just past the two-minute warning, Steelers used a fullback on 27 of 61 snaps, 44.2% of the time. I don't have the stats available that I put together for the past couple of seasons, but I think it's accurate to see that this is well over twice as much fullback usage as we've seen.

Steelers, as you know, handed off to Redman twice, lined up in the fullback spot, raising some possibility of a Redman-Mendy look. Steelers were in a fullback set on the 68-yarder to Wallace.

Now, it is the case that Steelers ran alot of fullback in the second half, but in the first half were still running with a fullback between one-quarter and one-third of the time.

FWIW.....
