The UglyIf you tell me to not blame the officials, you're dead to me. All game long, they gave terrible spots for both teams and made some horrible non-calls, including the three holding penalties that occurred on Mendenhall's OT winning run. We had been shutting him down hard all game and suddenly he breaks one? Not a coincidence. Both Kroy and Abe were being very obviously held. Look back at the replay.
Whether it's the Superbowl win against the Seahawks, this most recent win agains the Falcons, or every game we play against the Ratbirds I'm tired of people thinking it's the ref's who won the game for us. Maybe it's just the teams with fowl mascots that can't accept that it's their own team not scoring enough points to win that put them in a situation to loose, but either way I'm tired of the excuse.
Please Mr. Tomlin, Mr. Arians and the rest of the Steelers team will you put opponents away. Knock 'em down, knock 'em down again, and then knock 'em out. Leave no questions about who is the better team.
Dennis Dixon has plenty of weapons, turn him loose! Run the ball down their throats, hit a couple of short routes to ARE and/or Ward, and then kill 'em with a deep pass to Wallace. Wash, Rinse, Repeat!
And next season can we draft a new kicker? I'm done with Skippy. At least the ref's appear (to others) to be helping our cause. It's obvious that Reed is not. My wife thinks that Reed is being paid by the other teams to miss field goals. If he doesn't improve quickly he'll be the biggest waste of a franchise tag in the history of free agency.
Oh, and to the NFL officiating staff. Thanks.
