Carolina Panthers (1-2) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) - Preseason Game No. 4: BTSC Open Thread (1st Half)

Here we are, just one week away from the start of the real deal in the National Football League. There's still business to tend to tonight however for Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The starting quarterback still has not been named for the opener against Atlanta Falcons two Sundays from now, and though Dennis Dixon may have hurt his chances last Sunday evening, he may not be out of the running for the nod just yet. Tomlin and his staff may also not quite have their mind made up about each and every last position along the offensive line. Same might be said for the slew of cornerbacks vying for playing time in Dick LeBeau's defense, as well as various roles on special teams.

So, plenty to keep an eye on and pay attention to this evening. Above all else however, let's hope for a clean, injury-free game for both squads. Join fellow fans here throughout the contest to talk about the game as it unfolds.

Go Steelers!

Things I'd like to see

1. Urbik and Hills destroy everything in their path to solidify roster spots.
2. Harris and Worthington play well enough to lead the coaches to release Eason.
3. Pouncey continue his excellent play from the C spot.
4. Lewis bounce back from last week. CBs need to have a very short memory.

More to follow.

ALOHA!

Just back from Maui…Took a break from the Pacific about 2 PM Sunday to catch the first half of the Steelers versus Denver.
All I can say is what I’ve been saying “Byron Leftwich will start at QB for the Steelers until Ben returns from suspension.” Hopefully Arians has enough chutzpah to mix in some Dennis “Slash” Dixon razzle-dazzle to keep the opposing D off balance.

And I'll be ridin' him the whole time

I don’t usually gripe about Steelers draft pics because they’ve shown they know what they’re doing, but man Sean Lee, if he could stay healthy, would have been a great Steeler! And he’s really someone they could really use now at least for backup purposes.

You’re right though we have to be patient with draft picks.

But back in the States that was my favorite XBox game. Seriously before moving to NZ that’s all I played, traded in MW 2 because I got sick of glitches and cheaters. BC2 is the most realistic you’ll get, bro! Nothing like blowing up your enemy’s cover with the main gun of a tank.
