I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that this week: "It's is a Quarterback Driven League" and "You cannot win in this league without an elite Quarterback"
Someone needs to tell the Pittsburgh Defense that. Better yet... don't
How bad are the Steeler's QB stats?
Combined, for a 2 week period, the Steelers QBs have posted an anemic QB rating of 78.81. Let me put that in perspective for you... That is a worse rating than Tony Romo (who is 0-2), Matt Ryan (who looked horrible last week against the Steelers), and Josh Freeman (of the Tampa Bay Bucs).
Remember, the Minnesota Vikings sent an envoy of players down to Louisiana to beg an ancient Brett Favre to come back and play one more year, because they didn't think they could win with Tavares Jackson, and he has a career QB rating of 77.9!
in his column this week, Peter King keeps chanting the Party Line... the way he sees week 2, it was "stolen" by the play of 3 quarterbacks. And, oh my, look out Steeler nation... because one of the QBs he is touting is the "surprise" of the season, Josh Freeman.
Oh no! One of the 3 most exciting QBs is going to playing against the Steelers... and the Steelers don't know which hobbled QB will be taking snaps for them... is it the guy who just hurt his knee, or the guy who hurt it three weeks ago, or the guy who's knees creak when he walks? What a disaster looms in a league that is defined by quarterbacks!
Well... Like I said... don't tell the Steelers... because they are living with the quaint notion that Defense still wins championships...
