ESPN and the wire services are making a big deal about the fact that the Steelers have chosen their captains for the coming year, and Ben is not among them. I think there's a lot more to the story than that. A lot more....after the jump.
The Grown-Ups Have Taken Over, and that's great news!!!!!
Anyone else notice that the THREE captains who failed to act like adults off the field – Ben, Skippy, and Deebo – were NOT voted captains again this year????
And that three grown-ups – Ward, Miller, and KFox – were named in their place????
Roethlisberger’s attitude and antics caused a lot of resentment in the clubhouse. Ward was among those who had had enough, and made some comments along the way that made that clear. The Steelers have settled things in the clubhouse. This is Tomlin’s team now, and he is running it, and the grown-ups have bought in and are on the same page.
I be lovin’ me some of that chemistry. I think it's all good, and shows the players are focused and won't be tolerating any more shenanigans - especially among those who seek positions of leadership. Considering the fact that the NFL is full of divas and buttholes, this change in team leadership seems to me to be a big deal.
Is it, or is Homer making a big deal out of nothing?
Poll
Does the fact that Ben, Reed, and Harrison have NOT been voted captains again this year a signify a change in team leadership, and does it have any real meaning?
