You Heard It Here First

Well, folks, we knew it all along, but now we've got proof, in writing:

"You wish you had 50 guys like him," Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said. "You'd have no problems as a coach."

And who, you may ask, is Arians referring to?  None other than Tight End Heath Miller.  Although to be honest, I wouldn't quibble with having 50 guys as hardworking, humble, and handsome as Heath.  (It's a great day for alliteration, apparently.)

But in all seriousness, check out the whole article here.  It's a great tribute to a great under-the-radar Steeler.  All hail to Heath!  And for the ladies among us, here's a picture to brighten your day:

The definition of Steeler...

Quiet, not flashy, uber talented and trying to get better every day.

We are truly lucky to have a player like Heath.

I have not yet begun to procrastinate.

You wish you had 50 guys like him

I think we’ve underestimated Arians. 11 TE’s isn’t enough. He wants the whole roster, presumably with the exception of a P, K, and LS.

I'm pretty sure Harrison would make a good TE

At the snap rather than block his man, he’d longsnap him into the river

I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.

Depends...

If you mean # of receptions, then I stand corrected…Green had 63 in 1993….BUT he had 900+ yards.

I still like Miller better, but it sure didn’t seem like he was getting that many last year.

Hard to see past a “loss” and look for the silver lining. For me anyway.

And I don’t play fantasy football lol

by Blitz-burgh on Sep 8, 2010 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Miller

isn’t much of a down field threat, he is a possession guy. Thats all you need your TE to be. they might have gone to Eric greene more, and Heath still has more receptions because heath drops maybe 1 or 2 passes per season. So you may be right here, if they passed to him as much as they did eric green Miller might have 90 -100 catches.

Rec'd

Heath is the epitome if class, and an amazing individual and football player. He deserves it.

This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

awesome

in Germany, everyone’s complaining how the English language is taking over single words, but then when I tell them it’s normal and the same in the US with German words (Kindergarten, kaputt, etc) nobody believes me. Thanks for another example :)

by Simonsen on Sep 9, 2010 10:04 AM EDT up reply actions

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don’t just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.

exactly

my point was that in a world that is becoming more and more interconnected, in which corporations cannot call only one country their home and a global marketspace emerges, no one language can defend it’s purity anymore, nor should it. Unfortunately, that’s still done in Germany… to a degree that can be pretty annoying.

On a side note, do you know the word for cell phones in Germany? ‘Handy’. An English word, but nothing close to what Great Britain (Mobile Phone) or the US (Cell Phone) calls their portable phones. Now that is something weird… but I digress.
