But...
If Tomlin never said who was going to start on Sunday, the other team would have never found out. He made a mistake by telling everyone who would start.
Riiiight.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate.

I know...
This was more of a joke about the people who thought we could keep it a secret up until gameday.
One of the biggest sports stories going right now, kept a secret? Not gonna happen.

sounds like bouchette dropped the ball on this one
the original article florio linked was written by bouchette. in PFT’s summary, florio only said bouchette reported dixon took first team reps and florio then proceded to wonder out loud if tomlin would accounce dixon as the starter. if you read the article now, it says that tomlin announced dixon as the starter.
florio maybe an idiot, but i doubt he or anyone would misread an article that’s 3 sentences long. i have a feeling bouchette went back and edited the article after tomlin announced dixon was the starter. sounds like bouchette forced the steelers hand on this one…maybe he’s getting a lil too big for his britches.
(unlike most websites that post news stories, PPG doesnt have a post time or edit time on their articles).
rotoworld posts point towards bouchette being the leak as well
if you’re not familar with rotoworld.com, they give a one line summary of other articles and then 1 line of their take & link the original article.
they linked the same bouchette article and say bouchette reports dixon is taking first team stats but a clear stater has not been announced yet (if you read the article now, it says tomlin named dixon the starter). rotoworld then did an update about an hour later and say dixon was now named the starter.
first, bouchette starts charging readers for info that used to be free on PPG site (he takes credit for the idea of PPG+ in one of his chats…that used to be free). now he’s ignoring steeler media protocol. thanks bouchette.
