Hines Ward: So glad to see him get a TD, if you read my post from earlier this week you remember Hines hadn't caught a TD vs. the Ravens since 2004. That TD was worth waiting for, a tough catch to tie the game. Also a great bounce back from the first half. Anyone notice Hines with his head down and worried look on his face in the first half? That's as bad a sign as you can get for our offense. When he's smiling and instigating he destroys the ravens, but that worried look said everything about our first half offense.
How about the front 7? Hampton was dominating the middle, Hood played his best game yet, Keisel was flying all over, it was beautiful to see our line playing so well. James Harrison, my lord the no calling holds vs Harrison rule couldn't even contain him, he was doing whatever he wanted out there. Woodley made some big plays, Timmons was all over the place and Farrior did his usual quiet good job.
Ryan Clark and Troy: Have to say Troy played one of his quietest games I've seen, you could tell he was frustrated on the Heap catch. I don't think he's 100%, but enter Ryan Clark, good tackling, the big pick, I'll forgive the hit on Ike because Swaggin was ok. Ryan really stepped up on a day where Troy was not able to make the big plays he usually does. Speaking of the corners, what a job they did. Man our defense just flat out crushed the Ravens.
Houshmanzadeh, Steeler killer title revoked. That drop was a thing of beauty. You can take the idiot away from Cincinnati, but you can't take the Bungle out of him. Boldin, great game mr. star receiver, too bad L Fitz wasn't there to make it look better.
What happened to Cam Cameron? He has been a great OC for years now, and this season he just can't get this offense to work. Not that I'm complaining, but there is so much that doesn't make sense about the Ravens this year.
Ray Lewis and Lawrence Timmons: did anyone catch the play where Mendy beat Ray to the outside? a safety made the tackle but man Ray looks slow compared to even last year. Timmons on the other hand is on the way up. He's going to be a treat to have in our system.
Speaking of running backs, Mendy played great. We weren't going to run all over the Ravens with the bubblegum and paper clip O-Line we had out there but he got it done when we needed it. Sometimes just enough is great. Anyone else wondering why we don't see more of Redman, the guy keeps getting it done in incredibly limited chances. I'm not saying split the load, I'd just like to see him get a few more carries to spell Rashard.
I'm not saying anything about Ben here, despite how well he played, because I'm working on a playoff QB post that so far looks like it will be praising our franchises second big dumb Super Bowl winning QB enough.
