What's Better Than Beating The Ravens In The Playoffs?

Oh, I'd have to say seeing Tom Brady sitting on the sidelines late in the game looking beat after the Steelers beat the Ravens in the playoffs. I do love to see the Hated Patriots lose. We'll get back to them in a bit.

I have to say, I've learned how to be a Steelers fan in the last few years. You have to keep believing. Sure, I was looking on the internet for the best ways to commit suicide, but then I thought, "Calm down, get a grip man, these are the Steelers for God's sake". They do take you to the edge of an ulcer at times.

B.S. call on Hines. I was getting set for another game against the refs, but was pleasantly surprised by thier lack of impact on the game. Yes, I believe that was a holding on the kick return. The ref that threw the flag threw it from the other side of the play from the replay. When I was watching the return live, I thought that was a hold with the different camera angle.

I know Suggs did a lot of talking and had that shirt, but he seems to have matured some. I thought the way he said things in the media was much better than in years past. I even saw him an Ben talking on the field and it appeared friendly. After watching the jets game, I have a feeling a lot of the disrespect this, and disrespect that, might, just might, have been fostered by Bart Scott. Way to take a victory well Bart.

I read the fanpost about King and I have to agree with those who don't think too highly of him. I see a journalist who goes hard on players who don't speak to him on a regular basis and ignores the shortcomings of those who do. Sure, he picked the Steelers and the Packers at the beginning of the season, but his fine fifteen yo-yos like a fourthgrader was deciding who was good based on very narrow windows of information. He is way too in love with Brady and Belichick. My God, can you immagine if the Hated Patriots had recovered that first onside kick (I want you to picture the inside of the internet aid trailer at the end of the South Park episode where the internet went down)? I think King tries to hard to elevate Belichick, Brady and the Patriots and downplay the fact they are proven cheaters (Oh, by the way, didn't I say I thought the Patriots were still cheating a little while back? Well Patriot smoochers, what do you have to say now?) I too think King should have given the Steelers more love in his column.

I think all the broadcasters should have. How many of you caught Berman and that FAT BAG OF GUTS Tom Jackson after the Patriots loss? Jackson's comment about the Steelers maybe winning three super bowls without having to play the Patriots, arguably the best team in the last decade? ESPN's NFL Prime Time has gone to the dogs and I can't figure out if Burman and Jackson have come across this bias themselves or are being directed to it by the management.  Any way you look at it, NFL Prime Time sucks, especially, the fat bag of guts.

Before I even read anything by King, I was going to write about Rashard. I don't care what anyone says, he has become a hell of a back. That second touchdown was pure will. Oh, and he made Ray miss in the hole too. Money. The man is a baller.

How about those young receivers? Limas, are you paying attention? I've been moreof an Antonio Brown fan than Sanders, just because of the underdog aspect of life, but both are great receivers. What is going to happen in their second year? Watch out. T.J., are you paying attention, you big cry baby?

I think Ray Lewis is done. He is not great anymore. He is just good. That defense has always been predicated on having one great linebacker in the middle and one good one to eat up blocks. Now their lacking. Watch for them to try to replace him some time soon. Don't get me wrong, I still think he is one of the best to ever play the game, if not the best.

It seems that the Steelersdevelop not only players, but O.C.s as well. I hear there is a hell of a leap in performance between their thirty-first year of coaching and their thirty-second.

Kugleron the other hand, masterful. I like the fact that injured players are kept around the team and kept contributing. With him coaching, I might consider playing O. tackle. This guy really needs some love from Steelers Nation.

This just in: James Harrison fined $100,000 for too many sacks.

I think Mike Tomlin said it best when he said everyone contributed for the win. Once again, he may be reissued his Mensa card.

I have to say, I think the Jets at home look pretty good. They just played the 25th defense in the NFL, now they have to play the second (Did the Chargers really have the best defense this year? Really?). I have a feeling they will have to game-plan more for Harrison, and Woodley will show up. I look for a great defensive showing on the part of the Steelers. Also, Ben will not perform any different if you put pressure on him like they did Brady.

Let them talk. Let them get emotional. They still have to play the game. Most opponents don't understand the level of intensity the Steelersbring in a playoff game. Can the Jets match it? I don't know if they know what is ahead of them, what with them already making the Super Bowl and all. What do you think Ryan is telling them today to get them to focus on the Steelers?

If Ryan thought Belichick was the best coach in the game, and Ryan beat him, does he think he is the best coach now?

Okay, I have wasted enough of your time and mine. Great win.

GO STEELERS!

How about breaking it down even further?

This is better:

Don't understand the beef with Tom Jackson

I prefer him to almost any other analyst. I think he breaks down the games with a player’s mentality and doesn’t spent time woofing like so many of the others. I always thought he was a pretty classy guy.

Sure, I disagree with the line about avoiding the Patsies but this opinion is nothing new. How many others said Brady and the Pats owned the Steelers? This is the biggest reason I wanted to go through NE this year. I wanted our guys to dispel that rumor, once and for all.

Agreed. Most of the analysts are blowhards. Tom Jackson is not one of them. Didn’t like that Patsies comment either, though.

Burman SUCKS!

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Burman sucks!! He does not know jack sh** about football and is credited for his stupid sound blurbs when he reviews the top plays of the week. It was not necessary for him to bring up the fact that the steelers last routes to the superbowl did not involve what he calls “The Best Team” the Pats. WTF is that? The steelers did what they had to do to win the game vs Baltimore this year, did what they had to to win the game vs. The colts in 2005 in Indianapolis and waited for the Pats but they couldn’t get it done. The Pats could not get it done against the Broncos in 2005 and this year they could not get it done against the Jets so you can’t put that on the Steelers and call them lucky. They did their job at winning, you do yours. I can’t stand the media Brady-huggers and Belicheat-lovers, all they do is make excuses and praise them like they are football geniuses. The Jets just showed who the Pats really are, a team with a weak defense that is not used to playing from behind because they hide their weakness by using Brady in a pass-heavy, short-route scheme….that’s it! They are not untouchable and the Jets just proved it.

Colin Cowherd can suck a big fat one too because he just glorifies Brady and he bashes Aaron Rodgers for god knows how long and he keeps on looking like an idiot. Aaron Rodgers CAN BALL! Cowherd said earlier in the season that Aaron Rodgers is nothing special because he hasn’t won a playoff game when it is only his second year as starting QB and the playoff game against the Cardinals last year, he played really good but made a mistake at the end and his defense let him down. Now, he is the scariest QB in the playoffs now and this guy Colin Cowherd still has a job. I listened to Cowherd after Rodgers beat the Falcons and he said “I never said that Rodgers was an average QB” yeah right buddy, you can’t even own up to it like a man you douche! They need to get some real people to fill these sports analysis jobs because these guys are losers.

Again, I thought that comment about the Pats, between Berman and Jackson, was a complete joke. But still, I’ll take those two guys over everyone else.

guess some people

can’t handle facts

Fact, we didn’t play the pats in our last two super bowl runs

Fact, I’ve listend to colin’s show for a while and he never bashed Aaron rodgers. He stated facts, he wants to wait and see what the kid does in the playoffs, nothing wrong with that. He has constantly said that his top 2 QBs are Brady and Ben and if you want to argue you’d take Ben over Brady, he wouldn’t have a problem with it. He may be arrogant but a lot of things he does have a point to. I’ve never heard him say he was an average QB. I’ve only heard him say he wanted to see him win more in the playoffs. Whats wrong with that? They guys is 2-1, he has a very young playoff carreer, if he wins it all this year he will turn a lot of heads.

The conversation had to do with TJ not Colin Herd.

Can’t say I agree with you here. Fact, Tom Jackson said, more than once, “I just find it ‘interesting’ that the Steelers haven’t had to play the Patriots during their Super Bowl runs”. What exactly do you think he was implying here? Obviously that our last two Super Bowls are tainted.
This is rubbish, the reasoning sucks, and it’s offensive. It gives me o e more reason to hate the Pats and all the Brady lovers in the media.
By the way, not sure why you brought the Herd into the conversation when the discussion was about what Tom Jackson said.

With all due respect tannofsteel...

no offense at all, but you must have not been listening to Cowherd throughout the season when he talked about Rodgers. I have heard him consistently say that Aaron does not impress him, is good but nothing special, is good because he has the best recieving core in the league and he bases his points on Rodgers on the Premise that Rodgers has not won a playoff game. Recently after Rodgers won 2 straight playoff games, Colin seems a little convinced and says he has potential. This guy has downplayed Aaron Rodgers numerous times throughout the season and maybe you missed it, i happen to catch it on my way to work every morning. The reason why I brought Colin up is because he thinks Brady is flawless and speaks of him like he is untouchable, call me crazy but sometimes I like to see those brady-lovers in the media eat their own words!

I enjoyed the moment when they realized that the Ravens were going to lose

and somehow they said that Heinz didn’t hold a candle to Q-West field, from now on I am pronouncing it as two words just to annoy seahawks fans, even though the stadium was literally shaking and you couldn’t hear the PA over the fans.

Agreed about Mendenhall being a stud...

but more than one stud there can be, and therefore, if we are thinking about the same play, that was actually Redman who made Ray Lewis miss in the hole. Never a fair fight if you think about it.

Big Ben seems to have too much time on his hands, and too many hands on his time.

Nice thoughts...

It’s remarkable that the Steelers are as unpublicized as they are. I’m not sure I know why that is. They have been the most consistently great team since the 70s. With that you would expect to see the media like them, instead they make excuses for the Patriots who have been only marginally better over the past decade.

I guess that the lack of showmanship from the Steelers accounts for it. They’re not breaking offensive records. They’re not often blowing teams out in the fourth quarter.

I’m also starting to question the mystique of Bill Belicheck. He tends to do the unexpected and take more and more risks and they don’t always pay off for him. Being a great coach means taking these risks at the right times. Could Belicheck become a coach who’s great in the regular season but a poor playoff coach? His record is slowly declining.

I also wonder (now I’m ranting) about Patrick Chung saying he called the fake punt. If that’s true it’s odd that Bill doesn’t have input on that decision. Surely you tell your guy before he goes out there when he can and can’t do it. Right? So the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Belicheck tells the players to put that on themselves so it doesn’t look like he made the mistake.

Alright enough Pats* hatred. I’m excited for this weekend!
